AMISOM fights against Government soldiers in Xamar

Post by Colonel »

Mogadishu (Harar24) – Amidst raging violence in Mogadishu that continues to engulf the capital, soldiers within the Somali National Army are reported to have clashed with armed men loyal to Ahmed Da’i, the district chief of Wadajir. The fighting was reported to have taken place near the heavily fortified Halane military base.

According to eyewitnesses the soldiers were travelling near the airport when they arrived at an illegal checkpoint manned by clan militia loyal to Ahmed Da’I, who opened fire on the soldiers in an attempt to seize their weapons.

However, this attempt to seize the weapons turned into a heavy clash between the two parties, which led to AMISOM soldiers interfering. What seems most unusual is that instead of remaining neutral or siding by the government forces against the militias they surprisingly sided with the militias at the checkpoint, which led to the fleeing of the government troops, while the clashes left three people dead with an unknown number of injured.

According to Faduma Adow who sells tea in the area, the militia loyal to Ahmed Da’i protect and guard the AMISOM from Al-Shabaab attacks, in return the AMISOM forces in the area return the “favor”. “The soldiers who were passing by attempted to go through the makeshift checkpoint of the armed men loyal to Ahmed Da’i, this is when they opened fire. The road eventually leads to AMISOM bases, the AMISOM have an agreement with the armed men to protect them from Al-Shabaab, in return AMISOM lets them take illegal money from the checkpoint”.

Despite decrees by the government to execute any armed men or soldiers seen at illegal checkpoints, many still haven’t heed calls by the government to abandon setting up checkpoints. Some of the most rampant makeshift checkpoints are present at Wadajir and Dharkinley districts, where some powerful clans with loyal militias do as they wish.

:mindblown: AMISOM is now making under the table deals with clan militias and fighting Government soldiers.

"we will rebuild the Somali army"

Ahmed Daaci is AlShabaab's worst nightmare. He is the DC of Wadajir District and his troops protect the residents of Wadajir, Jezira and AMISOM from Al Shabaab.

His nephew who was with Al Shabaab was caught one time and brought to him. He ordered his execution without flinching. Now that is how you take care of business with Al Shabaab.

He should be crowned king of Mogadishu.

You are still not sober I see. If you want to know how to spot an idoor, check for chewer signs.

All those pics of folks enjoying Jezira beach that you saw on the Internet. Yeah, it was made possible by Ahmed Daaci. Without him, Jezira would have been a No Go zone.

More than 200 hundred orphans are fed, clothed and sheltered daily in Wadajir. It is Ahmed Daaci that pays for it from his pocket.

He lost his right leg to a bomb blast, yet he remains fearless and determined to wipe out Alshabaab from the face of the earth.

Ahmed is not a warlord, he is a man who protects his domain at all costs. AMISOM hides behind him, Alshabaab runs from him. The guy is a legend.

So he killed his own nephew. I take it he didnt like his brother/sister because I'm sure he would never have killed his own child..

A shameful act

I guess hutus forget to read the rest of the news article, this so called Axmed Daaci is a criminal running an extortion/isbaaro scheme in exchange for his "defence" against Al shabab. It's a lose-lose situation for the shacab.

BlueNwhite,

Why does AMISOM need protection by a militia from Shabaab? Aren't they paid to fight against Shabaab? Not hide from them.

I see Osob flits between moryaan princess & Govt insider effortlessly.
Don't be surprised to see her wearing a burka and waving a Beretta when Al Shabaab eventually take over.

Isbaaro? lol.... Isbaaro happens everytime Xaglotoosiye puts his hands inside old ladies' purses to fatten his pockets. Dhulbante should worry about their own.

Families in Medina eat dinner at night safe. Thanks to Ahmed Daaci.

Colonel
AMISOM is scared shitless. When it comes to real fighting, its the Somalis that do most of the heavylifting.

When Alshabaab attacked the Court House, AMISOM reamained outside of the gate, reluctant to come inside, while Alpha Group that arrived after they did, took care of business and rescued the hostages.

Even when the UNDP compound was attacked last year, AMISOM was MIA.

Do you expect Amisom to risk their lives for southern violence.
As long as the southerners are chopping each other up....they'll just look the other way. :D :som:
