Buying A Suit

Why do Somali guys always rock ill tailored suits? They've got no dress sense. Wallahi I suffer a cardiac arrest whenever I see these Borat lookalikes with their hand-me-downs at my local wine bar hitting on fake blondes with nothing stronger to steady their nerves than a glass of orange juice. It's always oversized or poorly fitted or the colour coordination is way off like a pint of caano geel well passed its sell by date. You know it's the first time the skinny, bless him, is wearing a suit just by clapping your eyes on him. I've never seen a guy repping the Horn well attired in professional gear. They've got no swag. no style, no mojo.
Wa Billahi Towfiiq.

What I don't get is Somalis think suits are a novelty and something unfamiliar. Kir iyo kut! Even the poorest qaxooti spends at least five years kitted out formally in shirt, necktie and blazer in high school every day. These are just suits for teenagers. All their youth is spent dressed to the nines and prepped for the work force, yet they lose those skills in college because they revert to jeans and casuals.
That is because they never truly feel that blazers are their Real Clothes. It's just a uniform for school. Something to be discarded like a used condom as soon as their teachers are out of sight for hoodies.
We need to teach our kids to be respectably dressed in and out of school. Get them outfitted in casual suits for clubbing, for breakdancing, and for screwing Sally on the weekend. Which means getting them to move out of the hood and into more elevated social circles where they won't feel so out of place rocking the Armani.

You expected the Italians to each this Somali's some dress sense, seems like that wasn't the case.

We were a people of the two cloths, not suits. Anyway a suit looks good on a person with a good physique, most of us have some kind of imbalance.

Imbalance huh. I think you're on to a winner with this hypothesis. It's a structural deficit.
To be fair the national dress of foreigners always hangs poorly on Somalis. If you think a Faarax in a suit looks comical you should see the wadaads in a khamees. They never quite know what to do with their keffiyeh. Instead of plonking it on the head Arab style, it's always on their shoulders because they don't have the confidence to carry it off. It's always half hearted. A nation of sartorial incompetents, and proud of it.
Better stick to our own national dress. You never see a nomad with an outsized macaawiis.

What the hell are you doing at a wine bar to begin with? Someone wearing a bad suit should be least of your concerns.

I walked into menswear once to buy a suit for a trip. Couldn't get one that fit me well, either the arms were shorter than mine if it fit me, or it was a little above my size. Best option would be to have one tailored for you so it fits perfect. Haddii kale waa qasaaro.
I am cool with t-shirts and jeans, sandals and reebok, don't wear shorts either for my skinny legs lol. Talk about deficit.

Gamer, iga waran cafimaadkaadi walaal? If I had a long legged beauty like you with a see-through dirac and a gap toothed smile in my life, I would not drink so much.
But there is nothing wrong with a little Gin and Tonic to wind down after a long day's work in the office pretending that you are not surfing the web whenever your boss enters the room.
I am not a secular Muslim. I follow the sixth khalifa of Islam Yazid ibn Mu'awiya who drank wine and fornicated his brains out. I'm a Yazidi.

You break out the Reebok classics huh. Sheeit, that is dangerous.
If you can be conned into wearing the gowns and frocks of the smelly Arabs with a miswaak dangling from your lips to the laughter and amusement of your white neighbours, then why can't you drape your frame in a custom made sport coat for a hot date with Jennifer?

Proof yet again that evolution is false. Because if Darwinian survival of the fittest is true, quite how one so mentally defective, so enstupidated and so completely without sense or dignity as this joker manages to flourish is beyond me.
