This is Maka Al-Mukarama road the Turkish paved. Unfortunately they also covered the already existed sewers. The road is now full of rain water. Another reason why foreign aid is counter productive. Turkey should only build hospital and school buildings. In the future SFG must give the road construction contracts to Chinese companies only.

Does Mogadishu even have a sewer system?
Also it's pretty weird and funny to see the blue Ethiopian Lada taxis in Mogadishu now, who brought them over?

The Chinese are the most honest to trust with this road works and dhismooyinka. They are doing a fantastic work in Addis Ababa, they are building highways and beautiful roads, i seen it with my own eyes 20 months ago.

I'm 100% sure there is no sewage system in Xamar.

I thought he was going to say " don't let Turkey build roads, let's build it ourselves instead". Beggar mentality.

How much would it cost to pave all the streets in Mogadishu? And have sewers?

Sewerage can always be installed at a later point, we need roads for our cars at the moment...not that we even have the resources and choice for an alternative to the Turks

If I'm not mistaken, I think it's 40-50k per km on average in Somalia

Since when somalis learned to build roads on their own ? Skinnies can't even build decent looking structures and you're talking about roads.
There's no beggar mentality in my statement. All i'm advocating for is that SFG should hire chinese companies to do the road constructions in Somalia when enough funds can be collected in the near future.

Yes. Old Mogadishu has. Also the sewers of Maka Al-mukarama road weren't destroyed bc the road was closed for 15 years, reopened by UIC in 2006.

You're 100% wrong kiddo. Xamar has had a sewage system going back to the 1930s. What an embarrassment that the Walaweyn kids have no clue about Xamar.

Walaal if Somalia and somalis can't build a mile of road with the current resources and funds they have, then I suggest they give up on life and walk into the indian ocean. They should also burn down all these "universities". Quite clearly educating and learning is not what is going on in these glorified houses.
It's not that somalis can't build roads, it's that they can't be bothered building them.

How can Somalia build roads now by itself, when the country is still in civil war ? They couldn't even build roads before the civil war. Only chinese and italian have ever built roads in Somalia. Also universities in Somalia give lessons without practice maybe except for medical students. Truth to be told, somalis of today neither have the skills nor the funds to build something as ambitious as proper paved roads and highways. Maybe after 20 years, but not now.

Xamar needs an underground drainage system that collects all floods, rain and other excess water first, prior to having paved roads which in all honesty they will have to reconstruct to install a drainage system and waste money on the basic building blocks of infrastructure development. Nonetheless what good does having paved roads when the whole city smells like shdih. Makes no sense

Road-building isn't sophisticated higher mathematics or theoretical physics. It's pitch/asphalt, gravel and cement. It's people like you and your beggar "can't even wipe my own arse without foreign AID and supervision" mentality that is the reason why Africa is so poor and backward.
