How much money do i need monthly to survive in Mogadishu? I've already got a place to sleep! Just wondering?

Depends on your lifestyle mate, do u plan on going out alot, its hot and humid inside and not much on tv, public transportation is unsafe so youll spend 10 dollars a day just on petrol, extra 2 dollars on daily tyre bursts, maybe 5 dollars on hydrating yourself, 5 dollars on a meal outside, 10 if its for two, thats a typical day

A real killer is when your hosts are chewers, youll spend alot on fueling their addiction, if your a shisha man yourself theyre 10 dollars at a good establishment

A haircut can set u back anywhere from 1 dollar to 10+, had both and can safely say theres no difference absolutely horrendous, they gave me a shape up with a razor blade that took 10seconds, avoid it at all costs

I just wanna live a basic live. I don't chew. I got my own hooker which I will take to Mogadishu. So my family will send me about 50 dollars a month. Is that enough? Is it tough to find a job in Mogadishu? Do you live in Mogadishu?

I was there a little over two months ago, 50 dollars a month is nothing sxb, prices have been skyrocketed by diaspora. I was spending that almost daily if I'm honest. For you probably 50 dollars a week may be enough. Like I said it depends on who you are. I met some guy I knew from UK one time, we went to Liido beach. The guy would hardly spend a penny whereas I had to buy myself a drink every hour or I'd hate myself. It fascinated me how he could go without a drink for so long. You might not chew but people who show you around town might, and that's what they'll expect. One thing you'll learn in Xamar is nothing is free, advice isn't free, a man sitting down drinking tea that you paid for isn't free, khad is always expected. Traveling by yourself is dangerous and if you get lost at dark good luck.

Jobs there are easy to get if you have a degree and some experience. If you don't you might get a police or military position. I wouldn't bother going with just 50 dollars though. It doesn't make sense, why don't you get a part time job at walmart or something, save a grand.

I haven't been to Mogadishu, but I can imagine since is capital of the nation, more expensive than shitty jigjiga. in jigjiga $50 is not even enough to survive for a day, with my life style and my obsessed hygiene life style.

ps; I don't chew or have any addiction ex shisha or otherwise.

back home surprisely is very expensive even for me.

@ 50 dollars. Faqiirsanaa wuxu. Dude even IDPs in Xamar are given $100 per month. The era where you could live with $ 50 a month is long gone. I think if you want live alone in Xamar comfortably you'd have to spend at least $300.

I'm doomed. I might leave this summer insha allah. I've got 3/4 months time to find a job and save up! Hows Mogadishu though? You planning to go back? How long did you stay there?
