History stopped at 19th century.

Most of my fascinating history I read of 17th, 18th, and 19th century are history derived from the power of letter writing .Unfortunately, Somalis didn't have written, documented histories like letters preserved. They were illiterate. That's why the English are so fascinating. The poorest Jane And Joe in the isolated village and hills of England wrote gazillion of letters and therefore preserved history with impeccable precision. Today, people don't write. U have 140 character tweeters, and before that there was the stupid short lived GOT MAIL-emails, now gone. Then came text messages, not preserved. Sure, there is film and TV--(and home videos) but is it the same?


Have we lost the power and charm of letter writing? And Diaries? Sad ma ha>?

Writing is one of the greatest forms of eloquence. The ability to write and comprehend written work was an art, cherished since time immemorial. I still remember exchanging letters with my first ever pen pal in elementary school. He was a dutch boy who lived in Spain but stayed at Nederlands during the holiday break (weirdly enough, should be the other way around)

The world is evolving .. adapt or get left behind. You still have writing is just through a different format. The people of the 18 and 19 century that could read and write were lucky but now its essential tool for everyone no matter rich or poor, so in the future when they look back at this generation they can have access to a richer history than we ever did.
