Forgotten Sultanates

Post by Caesar »

Let's talk Galbeed history shall we? Please contrbute any knowledge about these resultants in this thread.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sultanate_of_Dawaro
The Sultanate of Dawaro was a sultanate founded around the 10th century by the Dawaro clan of the Jarso people
Founder: ʿAli Madaḥweyne Dir Aji Irir Samāle
By Somali reckoning, the founder of the clan is Dawaro Jārso ʿAli Madaḥweyne Dir Aji Irir Samāle. After the Oromo migrations, the ʿAli Madaḥweyne Dir were absorbed into the Afran Qallo Barentuma confederation, and today the Jarso are reckoned as Jārsō Daggā Qāllō Barentuma Oromō
Imagine the oromo hoard ( I.E the borg moving in after somalis ere exhausted by trying to kill of every last Habashi, they had to trick them to survive, then again Jaarso,Akisho, and Gurgura are the leaders of their confederacies within heir "oromo unities"
WINNING! :stylin:
Dawaro was a major power prior to its defeat and subjugation. It was roughly equal in size, population and power to the early Ifat
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sultanate_of_Bale
The Sultanate of Bale was a Somali Muslim sultanate founded in the Bale Mountains and corresponding roughly to the modern Bale Zone. Bale was the largest and most wild of the medieval sultanates of Ethiopia. Like most of the Islamic sultanates of Ethiopia, Bale was conquered by Amde Seyon in the 1320s, and would remain under Abyssinian occupation until Ahmeduddin Badlay's victory over Emperor Yeshaq I in 1429.

Bale zone is perhaps the most beautiful part of Ethiopia.
The headwaters of Shabelle/Jubba are located in this mountain paradise.
We must reclaim this area for succeeding generations.

The oromo identity means nothing now! It was a poltitical measure to save themselves from the oromo hoardes, if they were to say " peace niggas" nothing will happen! There is no need to claim oromo anymore, you will see the rise of the somali consciousness in the next 15-20 years.

But i agree jaarso and akisho outnumber the absame confederacy  :D
