The photo with the kids looks like pre-1969 because of the "American Something Mogadishu" on the t-shirt. 1969 to 2014 = 45 years. 45 + minimum of 30 = 75 years, plus up to nine years.

Grant must be extremely senile. That picture doesn't even look like it could come from the 1970's, let alone pre-1969.

It's the American Schoo of Mogadishu and it's from the 80's. It was posted on the Facebook group for the school among many others where former teachers and students share their memorabilia from the school.

Thanks for that. I have been under the impression there were no American schools or teachers in Somalia after the Peace Corps was kicked out in 1969. Do you know if the school was attached to the embassy?

Note: I have photos that look like that that are from the mid 1960s.

The school that the kids attended was the American School of Mogadishu (ASM) which ceased operations when the US Embassy shutdown in 1990.
