Female Circumcision Vs Abortion
Dear Somalis
Here is the original article by Nuur on somaliaonline forum==>
http://www.somaliaonline.com/cgi-bin/ub ... 2;t=001628
The underlining problem is in the UK, the somalis community have the highest abortion among all minorities.
We as individual will not be saviors, but how we are going to save our own sisters and member of our families not to fall.
Brother Nuur have highlighted under the following:
Problems:
1. Parents are not raising the kids well
2. Public School system a negative influence
3. Streets and neighborhood are very bad influence
4. Poverty, kids would do anything to buy what they like.
The options:
Sex Education: Not effective, been taught, but no results
Abstinence: Impossible in light of temptations
Lock them up: Not allowed.
Beat them: Not allowed
So, you stumble on our valued idea of Gudniin , you weigh against the impact above.
This thread are not for women and the none Somalis.
I opt out the women, because Allah did not gave them responsibilities on high matters, (as no prophets were a woman).
The question is open to all of us Somalis Man
Kind regards
Me or the_don_od_djibouti

Don
See, unfortunately for you, this is what we call a PUBLIC DISCUSSION BOARD. That means, that it's open to the PUBLIC. Which means anyone can post here. Now, as a facist, I realize that the idea of free speech is anathema to you, but if you want to hang out on public discussion boards, it's a concept you're going to have to get used to.

Don
This isn't a self-respect thing. This is an intimidation thing. You are just trying to bully me - and it ain't going to work.
Now, maybe if you had said "Please, I'd appreciate it if only Somali men would respond" then MAYBE I would have entertained that. But get it straight buster, you don't tell me what to do. Not now, not ever. Focking rag-heads, think they can bully everyone around them.

Remember the despicable action of Female genetical mutalation its a practise that stem from varying culture and customs of moslems and non moslem alike. But often those moslems who carried out such inhumane practise utilised Islam as pretext on which to base their justification, is fair to note FGM is a bypass product of cultural values and customs norms but certainly not of Islam.
Earl, shut the the Fukc Up trialor trash.
Anyway, Don.....
Circumcision does not control or regulate sexual appetite. Taking such huge a part of someone causes huge emotional/mental/sexual confusion and should not even be considered as an option. That is why many of the these females act out. For a woman to reach a sexual awareness or comfort with her body and sexuality, is something that she must grow into. It can't just be done, it comes with time and maturity, circumcision stunts that growth. Not only does it stunt coming to a sexual maturity but it makes her feel inadequate in some way, shape or form..that is why she acts out. She is looking for some sort of satisfaction, with her self.
As the article said, abstinence is next to impossible in this day and age. It's not that the sex education is un-effctive it's that it is useless, what good will it do if they leave what is learned at school and cannot come home and discuss it with their parent(s)?
Parents are part of the blame, the smaller part. What they need to understand is that they are not in Somalia anymore. Teenagers here face difficult things and the parents need to be able to adpat and even tho they might not agree to the discussion, they must know that it is essential. That is problems with Somali parents, they are too quick to dismiss and deem their teen's issues as irrelevant or not important. It's entirely too easy for them to say "War or Naa, naga tag."
Now for the kids of today. I feel sorry for them because they are misunderstood and I believe they are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Who I feel more sorry for are the Somali parents of today. You have to make your own decisions based on what is wrong or right to you. You have to be able to be an individual and find and know yourself in the midst of peer presures and confusion. The most important thing, what kids of today don't know is, is that in their quest for self awarness they need to still respect and obey their parents. They need to realize that the average Somali parent has gone through a hell of a whole lot, and deserves nothing but the best treatment. For every thought that leaves and enters your mind, the one that needs to stay is trying to better their life by bettering your own. Let's face it, our parents aren't that demanding.....all they ask is that we not loose our culture/language while we gain a foregin one!
