Somaliland political parties friction in Bristol City, UK

This was a similar incident to the one that happened in Canada. Supporters of Cllr Hibaq Jama (WADANI) the only Somali Councillor in the city
decided to hold a gathering in the Council House and to raise the Somaliland flag there, supporters of Kulmiye were against it, nevertheless
supporters of WADANI went ahead with it as they are more influential in this city and got Hibaq Jama to do their bidding, in the end their wishes
prevailed over the minority. Similar events are expected in Stockholm where a WADANI supporter Amir Adan is a MP in the Swedish parliament or
MP Fadumo Madar in Oslo, Norway. In Finland Cirro and his supporters which are the largest Somaliland community there brought a motion to the
Finnish parliament to recognize Somaliland. Whether it is in Sweden, Norway, UK or Finland Kulmiye and their supporters will be humiliated as they
have no representatives in the host governments. Moral of the story , don't mess with landheers with connections.

If HY are all behind Wadani and other clans are behind their clan-orientated parties, then those are not parties but a game of who has the votes from their clan population isn't it? Why have a party system if you're not voting along ideology lines?

That is why there is the three party limit, Somaliland has about say 10 clans, so those without parties choose the party of their choice. It is a mix of voting
along ideology lines and clan lines. A party leader first has to have a base, so this is where clan comes in. If you don't have the support of your own
community how the hell do you expect other clans will vote for you. It is all the same most of Africa, same reason Raila Odinga had the Luo as his
base and Uhuru Kenyatta had the Kikuyu as his support base.
