Would you ever disown a family member?
If yes, what is a valid reason? Criminality? Religion? Money? Qabyaalad? Alcoholism? Drug addiction?
What is the red line.
Someone posted a while back a video of a Somali woman who was disowned by her family because she left the religion.

If your family member was convicted of rape or murder would you disown him or her?
In Somalia they would just pay mag and the family would fully support the killer. Thats why our country is such a chaotic place, there are no morals or law or order.

I would disown them for sluttyness homosexuality rape etc
For murder I would try to understand, Somalia isn't in chaos because of that, even in the west some families wont disown, its up to the judicial system to bring justice, when it comes to extended fam or same sub clan I don't care

Somalis don't disown over rape and murder. They'll disown you for marrying minority clans or if you left the religion. They wont disown you if you went on a shooting spree and killed many babies. They will protect you. They will pay for your ticket to Somalia so the authorities don't make you face justice

Hydrogen whats funny?
Re: Would you ever disown a family member?
Disowning someone for being slutty/homosexual but not for taking someone's life and instead trying to "understand" them.
Re: Would you ever disown a family member?
For me, the only family that counts, is immediate family. And they could commit every crime on earth(as long as it's directed outside the family unit) and I would not disown them. Beat them up, lock them up, whip them with karbaash, send them to rehab, but never disown. Never that.
The immediate family unit = most sacred thing there is, it must be protected at all costs.
