In a stable Somalia...
...where do you think Somalia would rank in Fifa football ratings? This is obviously includes a national team with the access to modern stadiums, up-to-date training methods and discipline.
I think it would be on par with dark horse teams like Croatia, Belgium and Portugal.

Portugal?
Firstly, Portugal aren't a dark horse. They may not have a great historical record in football, but in the past 10 years they have taken up world class players. Forget top legends like Figo, Deco etc their current team sheet has f-king Ronaldo, Nani, Pepe, Carvalho, Coentrao etc. They nearly won the Euro in 2004 let's not forget that btw and they've knocked out England twice in international football.
Somalia has passion for football because it's pretty much the only credible sports they enjoy. I'm yet to meet a Somali who isn't a football fan. In a stable Somalia though i think they'd be better suited to Basketball, or maybe athletics i.e. long distant running. Football needs technical ability, strength, endurance, experience etc. Not to mention world class players.

Lol basketball? Is this guy fckin kidding? Who the hell watches that shit? Aside from athletics, the only other sport somalis can excel in is football. Finesse and technical skill can be taught, and the average Somali follows football as much as the southern europeans like Italy, Spain and Portugal. It's more a question of investment, discipline (Somalis tend to run all over the pitch) and scouting talent. Bt we've got bigger issues to deal with first.

Re: In a stable Somalia...
Kurki has been rather very kind. Somalia would not even make it to the women's league even if it was 'stable' for 20000000 years. Somalis of dead Somalia always exaggerate and talk from their rear end...
At least if you have some record then you can make prediction...but Somalia is only known for collecting big scores and then later blaming "hunger and famine" for losing.

Somalis have absolutely 0 chance at basketball, the best game somalis would excel in is cricket, anyone who opens a cricket foundation in somalia would bring atleast 1 or 2 world class cricketers within 5 years and they earn top dollar
