They can build some impressive homes but when it comes to commercial buildings they need serious revolutionary Tahrir Square style.
Hargeisa is a city with tranquility, population and money, so people are experimenting. I agree there is urgent need for qualified artechitures and town planing.

Khalid by the way, Ibrahim Abdi Kahin (Ibrahim Dhere) is not a merchant. The right term is tycoon. He supplies food goods to more than 25 countries in Africa via Djibouti Port. He is said to be a billionaire. All our tycoons are moving their money from Djibouti and where they have name, pride, history and blood.
Ibrahim Dheere, reer Osman Guelleh (Coke plant owners), Mohamed Said Guedi (SomCable), Aideed Jama (Hargeisa theatre and soon to import electricity from Ethiopia), Omaar Company (one of the richest Somali man but very low key,
Abdi Awad Ali (Indhadeero) used to be an intern for Omaar -
http://ominco.com/) just to name few...
I am very pleased to see Ibrahim Dheere make a presence. He always contributed thru charity and donations but its good to see him have a physical base. Ibrahim Dheere is the Sacad Muse wealth King along with Omaar Company owner (he is currently living quiet life in Gabiley but his sons run the business which has steel, timber, shipping, food and industrial side...he supplies Ethiopia the construction materials including steel).
Our city, every year its expanding at an amazing pace. Very soon it will be amongst the biggest cities in Africa not just the Horn.
