In my own personal opinion, the Darod is part of SL (Hartis such as Warsangelis and Dhulos) and so they celebrate May 18th with the rest. There is no place for July BS.

Southern Darods have the right to celebrate but July 1st does not make sense so they need to come up with a new day.

There is no such thing as Eleeys. The right term is Digil & Mirifle and they reserve the right to celebrate their days be it July, September or January. They never harmed Somaliland in any shape or form nor do they badmouth her status quo. They come as genuine Somalis seeking better life and security. They are good contributors to the overall society and their Maay language actually enriches the society. I believe there should be Maay language schools (Rahawein people should invest in them).

The Hawiye is another thing. If we allow them July, tomorrow they will have niiko day, then looting day then isbaaro day. So I believe no they should not be allowed anything. They should get the message that they are unwanted refugees and should remain within the premises of the UN sites until Somaliland tags them with electronic monitors.

They are a cancer and they should not be encouraged in any shape or form. Kenya allowed them certain rights 25 years ago and today it regrets. Isaaq have naive tendencies to be soft on Hawiye for lame reasons but I plan to change their perceptions and understanding.

The most important thing in people is attitude, culture and values. While Darod and Isaaq are historical rivals, I believe the northern Daroods share these ideals closer to the Isaaq than a Hawiye. Hawiye will kill elders, traditional chiefs, women and children. During Barre's war most of his soldiers were Hawiye and Bantus who committed the most hideous crimes. Barre lost control of them and ultimately lost control of the whole nation.

So no July Niiko.

Maaymal Republic (Rahawein and southern Dir) should make their own special day than celebrate dissolved union (July 1st) that no longer exists.

Celebrating independence days are symptoms of mental slavery. The reality is that there was never no independence. Celebrating these days further insults ones non existent intelligence.
Today about 70% of South African economy is run by foreigners. Independence ? Nigeria oil fields run by who ?
However i do agree that July 1st/independence days are useful in forging 'national' cultures and limiting qabilism. But celebrating july 1st is a joke today due to the accepted occupation.

July 1st is a niiko day, if we allow foreign Bantu culture originally from Congo and Senegal then we have to allow every weird culture to celebrate. It is the day our forefathers entered that cancerous union with the fufu people so it should not be allowed.
