Somaliland despite not having official recognition as a country is in a much better situation than Djibouti for the following reasons:
- Djibouti has never really been free from France even after their official independence on June 27 1977 whilst Somaliland is much less dependent on any nation
- Somaliland for the last 23 years of re-independence does not have any foreign troops or military bases on its soil
- Djibouti can be defeated by Somaliland in a war as we defeated the Faqash SDR military (cosnidered the most advanced in Africa at the time) with a rag-tag militia known as SNM. Now we have a professional military plus much larger population to even invade Djibouti with their small population and under equipped forces
- Somaliland has a higher total GDP and GDP per capita than Djibouti despite S/L's no recognition that brings foreign aid/investment
- Larger territory means S/L has a more diversified geography (some desert, some plush grass etc)whereas Djibouti is basically a hot desert across its small strip of land
- Somaliland is a democracy whilst Djibouti is a dictatorship. For example Ciise in Somaliland are free from repression unlike their counterparts over the border

Re: Somaliland > Djibouti
Indeed in many ways Somaliland is better than Jabuuti.
Re: Somaliland > Djibouti
yes sxb i went to djibouti and apart from a few nice buildings here and there, its nothing special. im not hating on anyone just trying to say that things in somaliland is not desperate without recognition. we are independent after all and independence is not the same thing as recognition
ps all the nice parts of djibouti city are owned by, and accesseable to, foreigners only just to let you know

Re: Somaliland > Djibouti
Djibouti I dont care about, its not worth even comparing to somaliland.
they speak french, eat croissants and sing voule vouz, half of the population are american troops.
They are totally foreign to us... especially me with my origins at qoryaale. First question our folkd would say is wtf is djibouti?
but obviously I cannot speak on behalf of all of you, some of u live near djibouti. And do know their culture. I have one advise fir those that do, especially for the guys, bstop saing 'huuno' and addressing each other as 'foosiy' really makes u more feminine.
Raagnimo is the only way to go.

bigbreak may be its because of your mam loool, only awdalians dont like djibouti because of saylac lughaya issues with ciise waraabe. somaliland and djibouti are not hostile nations djibouti is our little alternative country, if you have time to defend somaliland from others why dont you say what ever you want about the bitch pintland.

Re: Somaliland > Djibouti
octavious, i dont know any ethiopian who has bad feeling towards us somalilanders unlike some djiboutian rats e.g. jabuutawi. ethiopia should be our focus to emulate all the good stuff about them and compete with them across every aaspect but in a friendly manner
