Why SL was couldn't get recognized by any country since 1991 ? Why are you being ignored ? Is it true that you don't you have anything to offer to IC ?

Re: Somaliland and Somalia talks are now getting serious
Not any time soon, but once the mediation comes it can even take years the reason the mediation comes , in the chevening house of talks in London the International community was present but Somalia and Somaliland leaders told the Europeans to stay away from the talks and that they are Somalis and can solve their issue now i dont know if if Dr Bidaar was gullible maybe he believed in the good hearts of the walanweyns since he was born Baydhabo.. But now the issue is serious our walanweyn friends are having double feelings about the accords they signed about the airspace , now its a must that the mediation comes, the next talks will not get serious in terms of results. But they will have more international momentum and eventually mediation the walanweyns would want to push the Somaliland talks with Somalia to 2015, the walawneyns know SL will hold elections in 2015 and they have no time and we will have to be forced to push the talks further into 2015, after elections.. This gives them time the walanweyns want to buy more time , in order to become diplomatically superior. Senior diplomat biixi understands this we have to get go into the controversial issues the walanweyns want to avoid , it will be hard to swallow , i dont trust walanweyns nor care about their judgement for us it is important is to present our case to the Europeans when they join the negotiation table.

Its very difficult we are part of the dark continent Africa no African separatist movement won recognition South Sudan had oil and the republicans sponsored their independence you either have a super power that supports your case. the Eritreans model , the Eritreans invaded the Ethiopians and signed a deal with their Tigre cousins across the border. Somaliland declared independence and the walanweyns started madness and fell into anarchy for 23 years no one to talk to and the IC was why change this though Neighboring countries Ethiopia and Kenya have good relations with Somaliland. Its very hard if you dont fit into the geopolitical interest of the super powers whether the Russian federations or the United states the European union.
Re: Somaliland and Somalia talks are now getting serious
So you are saying that you are useless in the eyes of western and Eastern powers ? Damn That's sad
By the way how can you have good relationships with Ethiopia and Kenya if they won't recognize you ? Makes no sense.

The same reason the UK refused to ban jaad for too long.GIJaamac wrote:Why SL was couldn't get recognized by any country since 1991 ? Why are you being ignored ?
They always claimed that it doesn't effect the health of the users.
And look at it now. Banned. Not because they care about the Somalis but for whatever reason its for their interest first and formost.
Somaliland deserve to be recognized but its not really about what they deserve as far as the West is concerned.
What's in it for the west?

Ethiopia and Kenya are very friendly towards Somaliland independence they are not hostile towards this is important because we live in the same region .Ethiopia accepts SL passport Ethiopia had strong trade ties with Somaliland Kenya and somaliland relations are also warm , Ethiopia cannot go all the way because it hosts the AU head quarters, how ever it has shown very friendly gestures they might have sinister motives , but SL is taking advantage Somaliland uses Ethiopia embassies particularly the UK embassy in addis ababa and the United states Embassy in Nairobi. All of Africa is useless to European union even Dinkas are useless to the Europeans but they sit on oil and they whooped the Arabs for them , thats Africa Money talks Bulshit walks , But Somaliland will eventually get there a legal in the African union charters enshrined its only the Political factor that remains a obstacle particularly the Hairy Arabs, what matters is the regions if we are good with the region Ethiopia and kenya are very important in this.

Somaliland is fast becoming useless state unless very tough decisions are made. The easiest of which is to put a gun to somalias head. This is how others achieve their goals.

Why not Somaliland
We should stay away from these people, we have nothing in common and there should be no talks between SL and Somalia.
We should stay away from Djibouti as well.
Our main priorities should be;
1. Improve Somaliland and all the different sectors.
2. Structural reforms that would enhance and improve productivity combined with import regulations.
3. Exchange control and restrict the amount of foreign currency in the country.
4. Improve taxation and impose wealth tax on the rich elite and the upper class (in other words people from the diaspora).
5. Improve the infrastructure.
When it comes to foreign policy we have to;
1. Gain observer status in the Zoo also known as the AU for one simple reason and that is to disprove the anti SL elements in that organization and their illogical argument against Somaliland which is the "inviolability of the colonial borders".
2. Form relations with other countries on the black continent mainly countries in west Africa who would enable us to get recognition from within so to speak and politically we need to move away from the sewage known as the Horn of Africa.
3. Form relations with countries outside the continent that would be beneficial to us.
4. Forget about the US and the EU.
