For the most part, lovemaking was seemingly abused in Somalia, but times have changed. In my books, sex is sacred, even from an Islamic perspective it's sunnah lol...young folks nowadays observe the sanctity of the act with due diligence.
Re: NOOOO! This a terrible news !
lol Somalis are so delusional when it come to sex. Its just a natural feel two people have for each other not that big of a deal. Their conspiracies about sex is just unreal and sad.

Re: NOOOO! This a terrible news !
The question is who appoints one to become a sheikh? It seems that anyone who can recite the quran can become an authority and be called a sheikh. We have so many preachers whose knowledge of islam is limited. Most of our preachers do not have a degree from a recognised university. Even those who have it, do not have the academic clout to pass fatwas and rule on every issue .
I have yet to see a preacher that admits lack of knowledge to address an issue; ask them about sex, mathematics, economics, sociology, biology, medicine etc and they will give you an answer. It is a race to “ waan daadshe”.
Many of what they tell people defies common sense, science and much more. It doesn’t take much knowledge in islam or science to call their bluffs.
What is worse is that people don’t question their academic capital. You hear an idiot arguing that sheikh hebel said this and that and if you disagree, you are called names.
Historically, the title of sheikh was not bestowed on everyone. It was the penultimate position that showed knowledge and wisdom; a system of tenure track; you still with becoming a kabiir, then xir, then macalin quran; after the successful graduation of many of your, students, you had to wait for many years to gain knowledge, wisdom . You had to travel to many areas to get spatial knowledge.
Nowadays, all you need to become a sheikh is a few Arabic words (notice how many of our sheikhs despite talking to an overwhelmingly somali audience use Arabic words), a small beard etc.
It is time to do as Turkey, Iran and Indonesia. They have an accreditation system.
Many sheikhs in the west ( I know several of them) are in the midst of the moral decay that is characterising our society. They do not lead by example. Their wives are seperated from them to maximise welfare provisions; they do not work. You will not hear them talk about the pathological morass of our society. They will talk about Gaalo this and gaalo that without condemning our own gaalo madow back home.

Opposing views...not that I would really go by what they had to say about the subject since their reasoning is based on cultural mores as opposed to religious edicts or codes. As far as I'm concerned, you do with your partner what you wish unless it amounts to the you know what act which isn't allowed in Islam.gulaid111 wrote:So, xaraan miyaa dhuqutanku?

Are you questioning this shaikh's credibility and knowledge? If he has said something wrong do tell us please. He has spent 30 years of his life learning and teaching about Islam which makes him and others like him more credible than people like you and geoseven who have zero to little knowledge on matters like this. As a muslim your islamic education is continous and only ends the day your life ends so tell me how going to a university for certain amount of years will teach people everything they need to know about Islam?JaalleMarx wrote:The question is who appoints one to become a sheikh? Do you forget the most knowledeble individuals after the prophet were the sahaba and None of them went to a so called university. When it comes to Islam opinions dont matter and I would trust this shaikh over people who want to take a logical approach on everything.

@brother Meta..I've distinctively pin pointed that this character named Jaale is slipping away from the fold of Islamic believes bc of his perceived intellectual capacity where a gaal taught him to question all authorities even gods..ilaahay ha so hadeeyo...this is the same man that applauds the writer Nuraddinmetamorphosis wrote:Are you questioning this shaikh's credibility and knowledge? Meta, do you mean to tell us that a Sheikh is immune to critique? Mate, Islam isn't the Peoples Temple Cult and Sheikhs aren't Jim Jones. Every Muslim reserves the right to question any opinions from a Sheikh which don't appeal to reason.

Sh Umal is big in Somalia. He's the Sh Cumar Faaruuq AUN of Somalia today actually.
