Somalia and Foster Care/Orphans

Post by Caesar »

Why doesn't the government implement a mandatory law requiring people over 18

( and can afford it)to mentor or support a child that lost their parents. Perhaps make it a requirement to graduate HS in Somalia, Or volunteer at orphanages etc.
That way children will get the help they need and have love for the government instead of mistrust their parents grew up with.

I feel like this would be a great step in rebuilding our country. Enough meaningless buildings and hotels, what about the children? And all the street kids, does no one care about them? One of them could change the world

I'd would like to implement this myself in 2 years, save up enough money to foster 5+ children inshallah. I met a few kids during my Africa trip that I can foresee being successful individuals, a gave their family a few hundred for their school fees, but I suspected their fathers stole the money in order to support their horrid jaad addction
( bastards)
I will invest in them and their dreams and make sure my Somalia family makes sure the lacaag goes to the school and not the parents..
Currently I just support family-ish,
but I want to leave that xasidnimo we were conditioned with and help anyone who needs help.

My proposed ratio for help is this for fostering
3 girls and 2 boys ( since girls in Somalia work harder then boys).

Thoughts?
