Somalia is a full member of the Arab League, we never benefited at all.

After we finally started getting back on our feet, this happens. Egyptian Generals come to Mogadishu to stir trouble between Somalia and Ethiopia. They wanted us to stop rebuilding our country and die for them so that the Ethiopians don’t build the dam on the river nile. Like Sudan, Somalia is not interested in getting involved. We want to develop our region.

Nobody invited them and nobody asked them for anything. They came to Mogadishu unannounced. We just wanted them to go but they wouldn’t leave until after several photo opportunities.

The biggest misconception is Arabs didn't send forces to Somalia to pacify us. Some of the 30,000 troops and logistics support staff in UNISOM2 included Arab countries Saudi Arabia, Morocco, UAE, Jordan, Kuwait, Tunisia and Egypt. We should send them a letter of apology for being stubborn Somalis.
