More than 170,000 people, one-third of them civilians, have been killed in the ongoing foreign-sponsored crisis in Syria, a report says.

In a new report released on Thursday, the so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the total deaths of 171,509 people have been documented as a result of the unrelenting conflict in Syria.

According to the London-based pro-opposition group, 56,495 civilians, including 9,092 children, were among the dead documented up to July 8 this year.

The report said that 46,301 militants, including those from the Takfiri ISIL terrorists, were among the dead.

A total of 65,803 Syrian troops and pro-Damascus forces have also been killed in the conflict, it added.

Meanwhile, the identities of an additional 2,910 people who died remain unknown, the group added.

Syria has been gripped by deadly violence since March 2011. According to reports, the Western powers and their regional allies -- especially Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Turkey -- are supporting the militants operating inside Syria.

Meanwhile, Takfiri terrorists have recently stepped up their attacks against civilians as Syrian army soldiers have achieved major victories in its battle against the foreign-backed militants

Assad is winning the war. His Iranian friends are able to drive out all these groups but the ISIS/Nusra/etc all have men coming from different places everyday.

I wish I was there among the dead bodies. I will take notes, I will peep at their private parts and make a survey on the size of their organs and construct a stereotype by averaging using graphs and excel of course? Why are they not buried right away?

In any event xal waa in laga gaaro this whole Sunni/Shia business. Iraq, Syria, Yemen Lebanaon Are all burning and in Lebanon's place could burn anytime. Figures show Shia are 10-15% of the Muslim world but for such a small minority they cause such a huge raucous. Literally waa laga joogi waayay. Something needs to happen.

As cruel as this sounds, I really think these brutal wars are horrible, but they are going to happen regardless because I don't know if coexistence is ever going to happen.

murux, i think the best option is to just let them do it untill they get enough. interfering is not gonna end the war, it only making it worse. hala isku damaado marka hore.
