The military court of Somalia’s federal government said that the parents of any captured Al Shabab militants will be dealt with as ‘terrorists’ and will be prosecuted in accordance with the counter terrorism law.
The announcement was made in Mogadishu early on Sunday by the military court chairman Colonel Abdirahman Mahmoud Tur-yare. He talked to reporters before the execution of three Al shabab members.

He accused parents of Al Shabab fighters of hiding their sons while knowing they were Al Shabab members and were killing many innocent Somalis.

“I call on the fathers and mothers of Al Shabab fighters to report to us that their sons were Al Shabab, if they don’t do so, I am telling with a loud voice, that if any Al Shabab member is captured his parents will also be arrested and they will be executed together.” The military supreme court chairman told the media on Sunday.

But the court leader didn’t specify the law that allows the execution of the parents of Al Shabab fighters given the fact that some parents don’t even know the whereabouts of their sons or daughters who joined Al Shabab.

he did not said the parent of al shabaab figthers will get a death punishment.. what he said is if they know what their sons are doing and not reporting then the parent will be prosecuted in front of Somali court.. the reason hes saying this is one of men who excuted today was al shabaab member and sametime he was working inside villa Somalia and that mans father was also working Villa Somalia . hes father was mu*adinka villa somalis masjid where presedent and prime ministers pray almost daily.. and the father of the man who helped al shabaab to enter villa somalia and murder many people actually knew hes son was membar of al shabaab and never reported.. the father is in jail now and he will be prosecuted and i hope he gets death penalty because he knew hes son was working al shabaab and helped not once but twice al shabaab attacks against villa somalia..

so every parent who knows their son is al shabaab membar and not report to security agencies will be prosecuted.

You have to understand not a lot of these parents are shabaab sympathizers caruurtooda maalin caad ayaa xoog looga waatay or threatened to be killed by the ring leaders if they refuse to accept their kids joining them. How do they distinguish the two: shabaab sympathizers and those who aren't but were forced?

Listen the only reason this discussion about parent come was this death al shabaab killer-



this mans father was working inside villa Somalia and he was one of most trusted man, he knew hes son was working al shabaab and he was behind the first al shabaab attack on villa somalia where many people were killed including goverment officials.. the father did not reported or said nothing.. and again hes second took part another al shabaab attack this time he was one of suicide attackers .. a father or parent like that who know their sons murder innocent people and work for al shabaab and say nothing will face the Law..

To prove they're not Al-Shabaab sympathizers themselves and to save themselves from execution, every captured Al-Shabaab parent should be forced to shoot their terrorist offspring themselves. Toog ama waa lagu toogan.

Yes, to prove that a parent is collaberating with Alshabaab like the example Yalaxoow gave above.

the government is f-king stupid. why are they killing alshabab? why not jail them and torture them to reveal all the secrets of alshabab the death penalty will not help them. these people are happy to die and go to their delusional "heaven" and killing them in such painless manner is just plain stupid.

make them suffer just like they made millions of somalis suffer and feel pain
