That's the definition of zero sum. You're only as strong as Your weakest link. Somalia will not join the world until the entire Country stablizes. You cannot have parts of the Country burning and the other 'stable'. In addition roads have to be built crisscrossing the country and domestic trade needs to take place. If the Country stablizes, oil is discovered tomorrow and Somalia joints the 21st Century How will You feel if all that is blocked because of half a town here, or something like that. This isn't just directed at Puntland but all of us. We should really aspire to be more than little Ethiopian/Kenyan controlled ghettos but a modern, industrialized nation that has full 100% sovereign control of its land.

Thegoodshepherd doesn't see the ramifications in the long term, you cant have bantustans with an Amisom protected government with no real power in the country the country will never prosper. The country will only continue to bleed and will be a nation with out people. Economically the bantustan states can never progress with out the assistance of a government that works that secures the political and economic interest of the country. Somaliland to can never really progress aslong as it is tight to Somalia diplomatically , Somaliland has the biggest livestock trade market in the horn of Africa ,Somaliland budget alone is 5 times the size of that of PL , Somaliland has more small scale factories than the entire Somalia combined let alone Puntland even that for international standards and African standards to Somaliland is shit , reason why there is incompetency in SL leadership and ofcourse we are tight to the most failed state in the African continent.

Bottom line is no matter what we do, think or say When You go around the world all You have is Your name and Your name is Somali. As much as We may feel a clan identity inside the bottom line is it is irrelevant in the world context. We cannot go back to the 1950's and redraw the borders and make very clan a State. We need to figure out a way to work together because its 2014 and the world is passing us by. Our seat at the UN is as Somali. Our seat at the Arab League is as Somali. Our seat at the Organization of Islamic Countries is as Islamic, our seat at the African Union is as Somali. More important Somali is the language You speak.
