Tutsis are descendants of southern Cushitics. I'm sharing with one on 23andme and he's 60% cushitic. Southern Cushitics used to live as far as Tanzania before they got absorbed by the Nilotics and Bantus who expanded to the region. Some even like the Iraqw still exist today. By the way groups like the Samburu and in general most of the so called Nilotics in Kenya to Tanzania are very Cushitic (~50). Even their languages have been affected by Cushitic words. For example, the name Nairobi, a Maasai word which originally meant "the place of cool waters" has the Cushitic word for rain/water in it. Look at this Samburu herder in this video at 12.48 for example.....He even has Timo-Jilic lol

By the way, the semi-pastoralist nature of Tutsis in itself is evident of their northern origin. Btw, Tutsis tend to have their non-Cushitic ancestry mostly on their paternal side.
