I figured that we live in a healthy conscious world of liberal persuasion, I feel or think, there is NO ROOM for obesity or fatness in 2014. One should eat responsibly, And IF one cannot,-- one should be in prison, starved, and therefore lose weight. There SHOULD be NO TRIAL because the accused is guilty by just looking at their rolls.

Indeed no.. Whatever valid points the op makes (e.g. health risks associated with obesity) are lost in the background. To the fore is the Basra's loathing of "ugly" fat. She's not attacking obesity as a problem... she's attacking obese people. And that's not helpful. It's spiteful.

Sul loooool Good point. But the reason Fat people don't get institutionalized is because the are TOO DAMN happy about their rolls. They wear tight cloths and walk the street proud. Anorexic people are moral people who care NOT to be fat, except they take a bad method to lose weight!

If they don't want to live, and aren't hurting anyone else by poisoning themselves, so be it. Not my problem.

Eating disorders are much the same, but just as with substance abuse, they become everyone else's problem when they show up in the ER in extremis with their family shouting "Save them" Then it costs $250,000 to put Humpty Dumpty back together just so they can get out of the hospital to drink, smoke, shoot up, eat too much/don't eat again.

Substance abuse is not the same. Usually, it happens to people with deep self esteem issues. Depressed people mostly abuse substance.


I want the world to be made of skinny pretty people. Is that too much to ask for?
