strangely i feel no uncertainty, i feel like i've taken my first step towards a future where i'm not making someone else's dream but my own. first job and only job after graduation, i was hired by a head hunter as we call them in the oil&gas industry and been with them ever since. they knew i was going to leave for sometime so it was a pleasant break-up but what they can't get their head around is, leaving well paid job, all the comforts in Australia for Africa..

i'm happy with my decision and i feel proud of myself and yes, i know what i'm going to do next

That was my moment back in Jan. I gave my two weeks, and bought a ticket the next week. Liberation lol it felt incredible. No regret or that uncertainty.

I don't have any offers at home currently but i've one in Tanzania and one offer in Oman, plan is to gradually move away from the West and make my way home sometime next year inn shaa allah, slow transition.

Wishing you success and happiness in witch ever route you take. Are you going back home if so that's very admirable not a lot of people can give up the luxuries of the west.

Good luck bro! I am in a similar boat..will be handing in my notice in a week's time -- no more 9-5 although, alxamdullilah, I established a decent experience base but my main plan is, insha'Allaah, finish my doctorate whilst making a gradual but smooth transition to permanent settlement in Africa. Fortune favours the brave. I find it highly depressing to look at a life in the West and be stuck in some sort of routine.
