Syrians are begging Obama to bomb Assad

Post by FAH1223 »

The ones here in the states are all over the place wondering why the US won't do air strikes in Syria..

And keep begging the White House to attack

Don't they know the Russians and Iranians won't let Syria just get away?

Bomb assad and let IS win the war or bomb IS and let Assad win the war. No good choice for obama.

Are the Americans (civilians) shook of Putin? I get the impression that he's like the "communist"/KGB bogeyman and that they're scared to death.

During the whole Crimea situation and the Malaysian airlines incident in eastern Ukraine as well as the conflict in Syria. Your news stations have been all over the place, especially Fox News.

I don't think Iran & Russia would mind the US bombing the IS in Syria. One thing this conflict has proved so far; the Iraqi army, vaunted Peshmerga, Syrian army, Hezbollah, the Iranian elite forces and other Shia allies have flunked the test against the IS.

Of course they are the ones in the US. The ones in Syria don't have that luxury.

Not gonna happen, the powers that be that control the US (not obama), would like a bloodbath to continue in Syria and would prefer the status quo, if Assad win US loses if Islamists win US loses so they prefer stalemate.

Yeah what possible reason would the US have to support either side, they are both anti-USA.

Not trying to speak as to the morality of this or that position, but aren't there lots of countries in the world? Why don't the Saudis and Qataris invade Syria, or on the other side of the equation, why doesn't Iran just invade and do something about this? Why is this the USA's problem :?

James

You are right, The U.S has no national interest in supporting either side of the equation. At the sametime, the Saudis and the Qataris became rivals since the Saudis and the UAE designated the Muslim Brotherhood as terror organisation and supported General Sisi over Morsi in Egypt. A cold war erupted between these two groups. If Iran militarily declares a unilateral involvement in Syria, then, a Sunni-Shia open hostilities will ensue and engulf countries like Bahrain, Lebanon and parts of the Arabian Gulf such as Kuwait and UAE where there are large numbers of Shia minorities. This scenario of a war between Shia and Sunni might unintentionally aid groups like ISIS and the whole region will be engulfed in a blood-bath. Neither of these countries are willing to risk such an outcome and share the same conclusion that ISIS and groups like them are their main arch-enemy. The status-quo will prevail and this permits both sides to have a strong grip on their domestic power. The Middle East is a place where provocative political manoeuvrings are constantly created with the intention to undermine their own public, so they could legitimise the total control of power by their elites. A classic artform tale of 'wag the dog'.
