Some cool Ramadan music

Post by Globetrotter- »

I am sure the wahabi fanatics would say listening to music is not allowed. In their world listening to even islamic music (gospel) is wrong.

But music has been an integral part of traditional islam and I hope M/F wahabists would be eradicated from the face of this earth.

Here comes a link.

Kambuli, you are welcome. Enjoy the music before the wahabist sheikhs issue a fatwa against that website.

Qanisgabeyle, check the dictionary on what "gospel" is before your write your nonsense.

I usually play with my band an ancient Arabic song called 'Talaha al-badru aleyna' which is told to be a religious song. We play it with electric guitars and drums and it sounds really good. The Master Musicians of Jajouka, from Morocco, recorded it in its record 'Apocalypse across the sky'. We make a rock-cover ot the Master Musicians' version. It's great.

One question: if music is forbidden in Islam, how come the Arabs invented instruments as 'ud and ghaitas?

Kamal , Music has been an integral part of islam. But the neo-fascists known as wahabists think music is haram.

These sick heads have changed parts of the koran& hadith to enhance arab culture-

But Globe, what I don't get is this. Music has also been part of Arabic culture since time immemorial. Even during and after the time of Mohammed, there was music. Now, though, it seems likes it's become an obsession.

Mac: It's like the dressing code: "Muslim women always dressed like this, covered from head to toe". Really orwellian: "We were ALWAYS at war with Eurasia". Same for music: "Music was always forbidden".

Mad,

Music has been part of old arab culture and muslim tradition.

But wahabism is neo-fascism. They see music as contributing (as odd as it may seem) to sexual freedom.

Wahabism is 90% pre islamic arab culture and 10% islam. People have been brainwashed into believing that music speaks to penises and vaginas.

Globe: You have to concur that dancing is a sexual insinuation. I suppose dance is also forbidden...
