UK Faraxs VS U.S Faraxs
For the best part of the past year I’ve been working and living in the UAE. During this time I’ve had many encounters with Somalis from all over the world. I have met a few Somali diasporan expats , who like myself work and live here. That being said, my focus today is on the male species *SURPRISE*! Specifically, Somali diasporan expat Faraxs.
There is a difference in how a Farax from the UK carries himself vs a Farax from the US. I am talking about a difference in cultural nuances.
I met a brother from North Carolina who is an engineer. I can listen to his southern accent all day. He is mad chill, very respectful. Say , that we are all hanging out and the fellas make a dirty joke he’ll be the first to say ‘war hablo baa naala fadhiyaa bal ukaadiya’. He knows how to use a fork and knife (inaanku waa iska reer magaal) he doesn’t hold the utensils like a Neanderthal. He is not patronizing ,and he doesn’t talk because he likes to hear the sound of his voice. He has an overall air of sophistication about him, u can tell its not forced it comes naturally.
Now the UK Farax, sigh, I am not hating heaven knows I’m not. You question whether he is employed or not, he is forever talking about a business plan that he is trying to implement. You can catch him chillin at different shisha cafes on the Marina. (malaha waa mid hooyadi biisha) He chews with his mouth open, constantly finds the need to talk about his need to marry four wives. And oh yeah, he looooves to hear the sound of his own face, once he opens his mouth nobody can get a word IN. Often idolizes his mates and goes into fits of nostalgia about past escapades. When dialogue is taking place he finds the need to silence the females at the table with a wave of his hand, 'ya3ni naa bal ukaadi yaaba ku yidhi hadal'.
I generally prefer the company of the American fellas vs the UK fellas. There are completely different in mannerisms and etiquette, UK Faraxs akhlaaqda aya kuyar.

Allow me to stand up for my UK brethren here. You can't judge all of them based on that one idiot. We demand a re-trial

Re: UK Faraxs VS U.S Faraxs
I dont know much about somali americans but I can tell you that british somalis male or female have NEVER heard of the following qualities/attributes.
Maturity
Receptive/expressive language skils
Sophistication
intellectual approach
Sense of fashion
MANNERS> OF ANY KIND
but then again I am European so anything british is little bit 'ugh'
But it is a known general knowledge that british somalis lack sophistication in a lot of departments
Supose I would meet 5 somalis from 5 different places with one being british- he or she would be the last person I would give my time to socialise with. Because I already know how that conversation will end..
Me being annoyed at the lack of intelligence in that conversation...

Re: UK Faraxs VS U.S Faraxs
Girls do tend to be just slightly more approachable due to their higher proportion of university attendees.
As a matter of fact somali girls in Britain do mature up pretty much better than their counterparts due to their interest in anything non-street

I think you're generalising. Let me just tell you that there are well mannered brothers in the UK. One shiisha head hardly presents the rest. Good and bad on both sides.

O come on amira, if he is not on shisha, he is chewing if not chewing he is drinking if not drinking then he is in a gang standing in alleyways acting all tough when in reality he hasnt changed his boxers for two weeks... 9/10 British guys in london are absolute waste.
Most definitely never finished a book never mind being articulate and sophisticated.. wearing that tshirt with that matching NY hat doesnt substitute intelligence nor class.
They are utter failure and any european somali in here can back me up with that statement..
Ps. We litterally destroyed qpr yesterday..top four challengers easily

White hart lane just because you wear skinny jeans, a tight cardigan and you read harry potter with your legs crossed it doesnt mean youre sophisticated.

let me just say i'm a big fan of Uk xaliimo's, some of the most intellectually mature, sophisticated and well mannered, cultured halimo's i've come across are from the Uk, all 3 of them lol.. also shout-out to canadian xaliimo's they seem very chilled. US, i haven't met any yet.

Your complete and utter generalisation is nauseating. I've said is my post that you'll find good and bad whether is in the UK or anywhere else. The OP, stated one guys manners. Witch hardly represents the rest. Now why are you so bitter towards our fellas? What have they done to you?
