I have noticed in many families that the wife's or mothers are always working and the men just stay at home, I mean they ask their wife's for £10.00 so they can buy khat. Raagi waay washen they left Africa to live in a worse life instead of fixing their lives, Allah ya rahma somali men in UK

Its not just somali men in UK.

7/10 somali men are lazy, idk why we arent motivated people, there must be a reason i will try to look into it in my spare time.

I would prefer to know what is with the generalizations lately?

We are classifying men/women from different areas and judging them as one.

I have met many waste Canadian, American, Dutch, British, and other European Somalis. There have been ugly, good and great from each - in looks, personality and passion to succeed in life.

Anywhere where men can find welfare to be easier than a day of honest work, there will be lazy and appreciative people. Those who leech and instead of using the help to grow, they become comfortable and stagnant.

UK is an interesting example..it (the lazyness) became more pronounced because of the accessibility and usage of khat. But now that it is illegal, like in Canada and America, I would like to see what social changes and (inshallah) improvements people make to their lives and for their families.

Also, on a side note, no matter where you are in the diaspora, it seems us women are holding it down - khat, welfare, or otherwise.
