Very sad day for the people of Somaliland the former Mayor of Borama who beautified the city in the 1980s. One of the most respected Clan elders of SL who attended all conferences in Somaliland in particularly the one in Sheikh who was the most difficult.
And was one of the 3 Gar naqs Akils during the habar habar wars in 1993. He also played a significant role to demilitarize the Ciise and Gadabursi disputes in zeila. He personally wrote the charter for beelaha dibu heshisinta beelaha Somaliland in burco in 1991 he led the delegation that came to Burco with all the Gadabursi and convinced the SDA faction to take part of the new Somaliland.
President cigaal named him later the governor of Awdal region and he helped set up all institutions he did a fund raise for the Borama Hospital. He later joined the Udub party and became the deputy chairperson of Udub. The last few years he has been living in Borama he became 74 years old.
