Silaanyo took his first Somaliland ID CARD
Somaliland president Muj A.M.M Silaanyo taking his first Somaliland national ID card. the president registered all his details including his subclan chief name on his ID! Somalilanders can not take their ID s without bringing their Recognized subclan chiefs to minimize Fraud.

Having the name of the chief of your subclan on your national ID? Brilliant!theyuusuf143 wrote:Somaliland president Muj A.M.M Silaanyo taking his first Somaliland national ID card. the president registered all his details including his subclan chief name on his ID! I like that too, clan cheifs knows all their clansmen by heart so its not easy for other somalis to take somaliland ID. secondly chiefs are paid by the ministry of interior so they are indirectly national civil servants. you can no bring unknown chief, first the cheif or his senior chief must be registered traditional leader !
Every chief aaqil have several unpaid aaqils under his command and he can give them some of his powers, but first he must submit a list of all his deputy aaqils or they can not perform any task.

so unless the cheif caaqil of your sub-clan gives authorization to the govt.theyuusuf143 wrote:I like that too, clan cheifs knows all their clansmen by heart so its not easy for other somalis to take somaliland ID.
that you are a member of that sub-clan, you cannot be a member of that clan.
therefore in turn you cannot access basic rights/ services of a citizen such as voting, healthcare
and land rights. that is absurd
i though being a citizen was a automatic right likewise.
i thought being a member of a clan was a automatic right through paternal lineage,
how can a corrupt caaqil be between you and the govt, and your citizens rights.
this is like sheekadii catholic that in order for you to communicate with god
you have to go through a priest
btw, most caaqil in somalian charge a fee for their signature of authorization
with most of hargeisa being danyar, these people cannot afford to pay.

Good point, but i think there is no other way we can control fraud. the aqils are not allowed to exclude members of their clan, their role is to identfy who is not linked to their clan. citizens dont have to bring their actual clan leaders. e.g if i am from buhotle but living in hargeisa any aqil from hargeisa can sign for you. its all about is this person isaq, dhulbahante warsangeli or samaroon ? members of those clans are automatically somalilnders no matter where they are from. isse and may be gabooye citizens will be double checked as most of them are not native somalilanders.

there needs to be some sort of regulation, or link the prove of citizenship with something else.
