Uk is leaning more to somaliland now a days, Even thou it won't recognise it first. Its dealing with it like a proper country. Our goverment is maturing a lot.
People don't know we are patient people even if it takes 100 years we will wait. The only recognition we have and need is from allah
Does the Government of the United Kingdom have any plans to recognise the currently
unrecognised country of the Republic of Somaliland?
Our policy on Somalia is well known. Somaliland is not officially recognised by any country,
including the UK, or by the international community or UN. Our policy is that the Somali
people themselves should determine their future relationship and that their regional
neighbours should take the lead in recognising any new arrangements.
Following the London Conference in February 2012, which „recognised the need for the
international community to support any dialogue that Somaliland and the Transitional
Federal Government (TFG) or its replacement may agree to establish in order to clarify their
future relations‟, the TFG and Somaliland met for the first time at Chevening, in the UK, in
June 2012 and agreed to cooperate on matters of mutual interest. Somalia and Somaliland
held talks in Turkey in April 2013, and again in July. We welcome Turkish-led efforts and
remaining willing to provide assistance and support, if requested.
Even the counter pirate office for puntland is based in Hargeisa.
UK funding has been utilised to provide support to the Puntland and Somaliland Counter-Piracy Focal Point Office in Hargeisa, Somaliland

Britain has always played a significant role in cooperating with Somaliland helped develop Somaliland Police forces in Training. Ten SL police commanders are now in Britain for training and education. Britain has helped create the SL development fund and the SL development corporations. The RRU police Unit has also being established with The help of the British Foreign Ministry. SL will join the Commonwealth nations. Britain and Denmark are the only European countries that have a diplomatic office in Hargeysa. There are about 30 mps in Britain or those representing British interest in European parliament who support back and Somaliland the peoples of Somaliland aspirations.
