It is time to give Brawaanis self rule
as we agree all regions have right to self rule. Baraawe city as it is name shows , belongs to brawaanis No daarood nor hawiye should be appointed and there must be local governance, police, justice etc. Igad has the responsibility to hand over the city to brawaanis.

Unfortunately Khalid is right......Hawiye will divvy up the spoils among themselves....with a few token crumbs thrown to Baraawis.

Spoke about your self s, here Hawiye is the Boss, Cad Cad reer Xamars are the governor of Xamarwayne and Shingaani, Tunni and Barawani will be the governor of Barawe.
Midgaan is equal and have Ministers and also dominate top positions. You should focus on freeing Gabooye people, they hate you the most because of your wrong doing same thing others did to you, you doing to them so shame on you.

@Khalid Ali
Will the madhibaan, Faqashani, Ciise and some other minor clans ever amount any thing in Somaliland heirachy?
Barawans some times get minsterial possiotion from the Somali government, Jareer has always a permanent minsterial postion in every somali cabinet, the same goes to Cad cad. For example Marya Ghasim was cad cad. Is there Ma dhiban minster in Somaliland cabinet?

I agree with you give local politics to local people that is what democracy is about , every Village , Town and City should fight their right to govern themselves locally and take their share for the running of the whole country , justice and giving every one their right will contribute to the long term stablity of the country.

in Somaliland wuxu codkoodu u gooyo one man one vote is the system and its all about how they politically organize themselves , in SL dadka waxba la iskuma qoondeeyo one man one vote let the people decide.
Re: It is time to give Brawaanis self rule
I agree with khalid like it or not the .5 clans are going to see the era of the TFG and this goverment elected on the basis of elders as the best they ever got, Somalis only respect violence barawanis, iyo wixi lamiid ah will disappear from the political map for a couple of reasons:
1. they dont have the numbers - when the day comes for one man one vote, they will always be outnumbered there will never be an cadcad mayor of mogadishu or a tunni governor of lower shabelle because they dont have the numbers period.
2. they dont have the resources - sure some one is going to jump up and say the richest somali in china is barawani or the richest guy in dubai is cadcad or what ever, but when it comes to a political campaign will beesha drop everything and milk themselves for the moolah it takes to get a man elected? do they even have the capacity to dream that far?

Re: It is time to give Brawaanis self rule
^^^ I think you are wrong. Tuuni are digil and they basically own everything south of Kurtunwarey in Shebelaha hoose. Degmoyinka Sablale iyo Barawe are majority Tunni. They even extend into Middle Juba.

Ok good shepherd I cant pretend to know the intricacies of lower shabelle. but do you agree with the two principles I outlined?

Re: It is time to give Brawaanis self rule
Yeah, if "one man, one vote" happens minorities are focked. Madhiban, Gaboye, all the cadcads on the Somali coast will probably not get even 1 seat. Even large clans like Dir might not get seats outside Awdal and Shebellaha hoose because they are too dispersed. The Dir in Galgadud, Hiiraan and Mudug will not get even 1 seat in parliament under "one man, one vote". 4.5 was probably the best system ever for them.Kornel wrote:Ok good shepherd I cant pretend to know the intricacies of lower shabelle. but do you agree with the two principles I outlined?

There will be no democracy for at least a generation....even then it will be similar to Afghan/Iraq...where votes are rounded up enblock.
