Somali restaurant customer service...

Post by Marques »

..Is a joke.

Went out for Eid to a "nice place" in West London a bit late with friends, they ran out of tea, most of their cakes were also finished, they don't have the typical Somali "jug" i.e. when you ask for a second round. To top it off they must have thought we were stupid when they tried charging extortionate prices ON EID DAY. Gaals always offer discounts on their festivals, why are we charging more on fellow Muslims on festival days?

These quasi British Somali maqaayads take a L.

Blue Ocean Continental on Shabar bush road is the best restaurant on this planet. I'd marry the chef's daughter even if she was 100kg, I'd pay £200 for a three course meal there.

They don't open up at the time they advertise. The list is endless

I have supported these stores out of Somalinimo even when it just made more sense to go elsewhere. And this is what allows Somali business owners to act they way they want; they know we will continue to come in droves. But I know of one Somali business that went under and all the Somalis went to the Xabashi hookah spot a block away instead. Somalis are learning about competition. They are learning that they don't have to buy from their fake abti or fake cousin

Chinese go to Chinese, Indian to Indian but they don't encounter these problems

I will have to reevaluate my own policy

Somali restaurants=horrible experience.

I went to this one called Blue ocean in West London. It was advertised as the best in town. It was not that good. It was expensive. The portions were "big/large". Typical quantity over quality.

I went also to this restaurant on Uxbridgeroad ( new Shephards Bush market). It was clean but expensive; again it was quantity. The waitress withdrew 240 pounds from my visa card instead of 120 (two dinners).

In Toronto, it was the same experience.

Somalis have alot to learn. Nadaafada, price etc.

Shitty services in every department. From maqaayad to xawaalad.

Last night we went to a very regarded one in Toronto and they had maybe half of what they printed on the menu. After being yold we ran out to two first items. I just asked him to tell me the options we had.

I dont know why Somalis flock to these shitholes.

Somali restaurants are almost run the same in every corner of the world. There are exceptional ones, but they are rare. In Xamar, restaurant owners bring in foreigners to cater to the customers because Somalis don't care about customer service.

Horrible customer service somalis have never been taught that the customer is the king , that is if you want to run a successful Business restaurant, and they treat the people shit like waiting to long for your food bring the wrong drinks. Sometimes Somali restaurants are good they cook nice cunto so its nice to go but they dont have the full package especially in London there was a place called ocean something

Any way in Hargeysa the customer service is terrible my cousin who has never been to Somaliland all her life visited the place she ordered shaah, cadays with sugar but apparently she had shaah with no sugar, any way she called some waiter and said the shaah is with out sugar. The waiter do you know what he does he drinks from her shaah and says no its fine there is sugar intu kabaday ayuu yidhi ku walaaq  . My cousin was shocked she said is he serious

Try Pakistani/indian restaurants. Food is almost cold when served. The drink I asked for before the meal is given to me when I'm leaving and no discounts or promotions on eid day as well as being ingnored by porter/waiters. So yeah, Somali restaurants are alright in comparison.

Turkish restaurants are the best. Somali and Desi restaurants have hygiene issues, and bad customer services.
