Do you think there is any truth to these qoutes?

Post by LMFAOO »

"The man who makes everything that leads to happiness depends upon himself, and not upon other men, has adopted the very best plan for living happily. This is the man of moderation, the man of manly character and of wisdom" - Plato

“Happiness depends on ourselves.” - Aristotle

"Happiness comes from within. It is not dependent on external things or on other people. You become vulnerable and can be easily hurt when your feelings of security and happiness depend on the behavior and actions of other people. Never give your power to anyone else." - Brian L Weiss

Do you think there is any truth to these qoutes based on your life experiences?

there's a common theme going on between these three quotes, 'optimism' is the way forward in life.

No! There are no universal formulas for happiness. Each and everyone of us are different so we find our happiness in different things and places.

But don't you agree that it is more desirable to be able to make yourself happy and not depend on others? That's what the qoutes are saying.

I honestly believe this is the sole reason why a lot of people break up in relationships.

Those are lies. Happiness is like money. You have to rob someone else of it.

That's absolutely not true. Happiness is an inside job. You can't rob anyone's happiness if they don't let you.

Islam/Quran encourages moderations. :eat: So, I guess that's the secret of happiness. Don't over do, whatever u do. Smoke cannabis in moderation, and it could be medicine, and not toxic. Etc etc etc :eat:

I'm sure all those prisoners in NK are still happy in their labour camps. I'm sure people in Kobani will still be happy after ISIS takes over their town. I'm sure you would still be happy if I curb stomped you.

Happiness is all in the mind. Has nothing to do with the external world.
