US/Western airstrikes, is ISIS really the target?

So the Kurd fighters PKK/YPG were fighting ISIS off Kobani before the US/western airstrikes begin, they did well relatively. but ironically when airstrikes began and intensified, ISIS advanced more and more and today it controls at least 50% of the city. (the Pentagon itself said we should prepare for the fall of Kobani)!

How come that after 100s of airstrikes not a single high ranking isis was killed? even the foot soldiers more rebels than isis are killed by those raids.

While US/western attacks managed to kill in one year

1- Doko Omarov, jihadist emir in Caucasus.
2- Godane, Alshabab emir.
3- Hakimulla Mahsod, Pakistan Taliban emir.

Is US really fighting ISIS or just paving the way for them?!

Because the Gaalo are so merciful that they don't want to carpet bomb the area, in case civilians get killed.

So this is the new way US use to arm ISIS, supplying them ammunition by dropping from air and claim they are aiding the Kurds!
