Is it haram?
P.s
Don't ask me if I want to get something done. I am merely asking this because there's a certain Muslim female who recently had plastic surgery in Thailand because Thailand is way cheaper than Brazil and no I didn't do a research on it, please stop asking me questions and answer my question.

Hahaha @ all the disclaimers
Stupid snet and its judgements of posts.
As far as I am aware, it is xaram. Permanently altering Allah's creation.

I don't know. I googled Plastic surgery just to understand it better.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plastic_surgery
Plastic surgery is a medical specialty concerned with the "correction" or restoration of form and function. Though cosmetic or aesthetic surgery is the best-known kind of plastic surgery, plastic surgery is not necessarily cosmetic;[2] and includes many types of reconstructive surgery, Craniofacial surgery, hand surgery, microsurgery, and the treatment of burns.
Plastic surgery seems like it can be helpful to people in bad situations

based on this definition

Hmmm Good point Serene..So what if it's corrective surgery, like laser eye surgery? And you're right. Burns require it as well. But the general purpose of 'plastic' surgery is to implant no?
I remember hearing once at masajid that if it's for aestheic purposes, then it is xaram.
Julz, even if you hide it, I don't think it matters. That's like a tattoo under your clothing right?

plastic surgery to reconstruct injured parts of the body is ok. im not sure about cosmetic plastic surgery but everyone should be happy with whatever features allah gave him, the afterlife everyone will look stunting 101. is that whats causing you the sleepless nights my dear julkimi. plus its an unneccesary risk to put yourself under anaesthetic, and the risk triples in countries where its not regulated.

It depends what the plastic surgery is for. Say a person got into a bad accident or got severely burned and they would need plastic surgery to restore them then it is not haraam.
If you just want a boobs or nose done, cause you're simply not satisfied with how you look despite nothing being wrong, then it is haraam.
