Too much fear mongering with Ebola. Even if you were infected with ebola and you were in a public area you wouldn't be infectious unless you were showing symptoms. I think this nurse wasn't showing any symptoms when she visited all these places....With the whole Texas Ebola, Either the isolation protocols recommended by CDC are insufficient or USA medical staff need training. Even though she was dealing with nasty stuff like Ebola due to cleaning up the vomit and all other fluids, there really is no reason the nurse in dallas should have contacted the disease. The current protocol is gown, mask, face shield and gloves, why not a hazmat type suit?
a bit weird that during an outbreak health care providers are only wearing what I would see in a bio safety level 2 lab. While ebola requires BSL 4 equipment to handle.. BSL 2 properly should reduce the probability of infection to zero. Im assuming they use this equipment over the suits due to ease of treating the patient, no real training required and no extra funding.......That's what makes what happened in Dallas so mind numbingly stupid and the fact sending a dude with high fever and stating he recently came from africa home...Everything went wrong in that hospital
Ebola requires a higher level of attention to detail and a zero mistake approach, CDC is saying they're will do an intensive training in major hospital in every state. let's see how that pans out
