Your stance on contraception in marriage?

For a lot of us Somalis born or bred in the west, it has become mainstream apart from the steadfast ones that stick to the letter of the law. So, as a practising Muslim or as an individual that aspires to live life according to the Deen, can you reconcile your conscience with trying to limit the number of children you and your partner have?
Before anyone jumps the gun, I am aware that contraception is permitted during the weaning period for a limited period of time or if the mother health is endangered for whatever reason. The traditional method employed was withdrawal but with advances in science, we are spoilt for choice.

Blizzard, is he your role model? You gonna breed a litter of junior blizzards to carry on the noble Sheekhal task of spreading Deen to far flung corners of Zoomalilands?

I share the same sentiments. Even if it was xalaal the woman has the final say in regards to contraception

Farhan, waxas walu ku sheekenin. Have some balls bro. During courtship you make it clear that you plan to abide by the Deen when it comes to contraception. Hade hadaal keento, hit the road Jack, plenty of fish in the sea.

The couple should decide between themselves. I assume nowadays even if they plan to have many babies, they don't want them to be one after the other.

Fair point. It takes a lot of Iman not to try and limit how many kids to have in light of the restrictions placed upon the use of contraception in Islam. May Allah give all of us the strength to do what is right.
