Why is there only 1 "O" in hooyo
Why is there a spoon and a fork instead of a knife and a fork
Why are you describing food as "casual"
Why is it laid out like a classroom
First few thoughts that come to mind

One O was left out so it can smoothly integrate into the overall society we intend to integrate to...
To you it appears like a classroom but to my view space is what a lot of Somali restaurants are missing out
It is called casual bc it is not fast

It looks like a classroom to me, especially when all the chairs are facing one direction.
Dude, it says "Fast Casual Somali". It's fine I suppose, just seems strange and a waste of a word. Why not authentic or fresh or something that has something to do with a restaurant, casual seems irrelevant to me but it's not the end of the world.FieldMarshalMenace wrote:It is called casual bc it is not fast

I like the casual. It will attract whites. Spoon and fork is kind of lame though / change to fork and knife.
Also, high backs on the chairs doesn't really work for the space you got going on there. Chairs and tables should be as minimal as possible because the space is pretty minimal (which isn't a bad thing.)
Also, if I understand the positioning of the chairs in that one pic, do you intend to rent the space out for presentations or meetings??

It looks ok.
The image..why a spoon and folk? and not a fandhaal?
hoyo's kitchen...not so catchy...
hoyo's touch... yea..that sound better.
But seriously... the logo of malqaacad iyo fargeeto

Keep coming with your constructive criticism ..it is absolutely appreciated ...I will take your comments to the person concerned..I am not really a restauranteur and I felt inadequate to give the person a proper saying into it ..but I wish the person a big luck...

Menace should be forgiven for his improper use of the word 'casual'. Due to his long involvement in the worthy cause of The National Liberation of Xaliimos, he habituated himself to use the term in the only context he is the most familiar with, namely, that of casual dating.Jasmine6 wrote:It looks like a classroom to me, especially when all the chairs are facing one direction.

One last thing I would say is depending on his target market he might want to consider the feel of the place. As it stands it looks like "maqayad" older Somali men style.
Painting the bottom half of the white wall, bigger light fixtures in place of the small ones on the brown wall, place mats on the table, some leafy potted plants in the corner, dimming any harsh lights...all reasonably cheap ways to create some ambiance.
Oh and the most impressively organised Somali restaurant I've been to - Savannah in London. Even the waiting staff have a uniform, basic I know but not many Somali restaurants have that.

But nothing beats Village in terms of taste

Re: Your input needed! Do you like the style?
First of all darling, the place is too dark for my taste, I am scared of the dark, so add that up with 40+ musty Somalis no thank you.
The chairs don't look comfortable, like jasmine suggested it looks like a class room.
I don't like the word casual, what's casual food? fries and burgers? NO THANK YOU. If I want "casual" food, I will cook it my damn self
What about decorations? he should paint the wall white, have some fresh flowers, wall decorations. And it's time for Somalis to upgrade their cutlery. I am tired of using plastic spoons/forks and plastic cups in Somali restaurants.
He should also hire professional waiters, not his cousins or relatives who will be rude to the customers because they know they will never get fired.
And for god's sake they should list the ingredients in a menu, actually scratch that all Somali restaurants should have menus. That's just my two cents walal.
