Caku...
Picture this.
You thought you have seen them all. i,e. somali women: The short one, the tall one, the fat one, the caato qooqan , the one with extra luggage on her rear, the one with what looks like pillows on her front, the ilko cas, the suuraleey, the all celaan one and much more.
And you ask yoself urwhat is more to see?. You have after all seen what is there to be seen.
You then travel and see indho-yars, cad cads, sub-saharan Africans and much more.
Just when you thought you have seen them all and nothing will surprise you, you land at Bole airport, Addis Ababa, and find someone who is from another planet. She could be 30+ but she looks like dheeylo. Beautiful in every sense of the world.
You think that she was designed for you. That Allah has finally answered your prayers; dhexyar, kub weyn, ilko saqaf leh oo saabuun la mariyey, naasaheega gamuun…
You start salivating, your heart beat increases and you start shivering. You become like a teenage boy who thinks he will have his first lay. You ask yourself what am I observing? Is this a dream? And start thinking about courting the creature in front of you…
You are undergoing conditional reflex to quote Pavlov . You are like his dog. You are like the character described by Hadraawi in Beledweyne and praying may the flight delay; may they tell you that Ebola has come to Bole and that you will stay there indefinitely
And out of the blues, this somali approaches and says hi. You reply hi and focus on the gem in front of you. You say to yourself; il fuurkaan muxuu ahaa?
Instead of leaving you to pursue your dream and enjoy your moment, he tells you “ Waryaa amxaarada yaay ku sirin; ma istinjoodaan, hoos ayaay ka uraan; afkoodana wuu uraa”
Anti-climax.
You look at the creature in front of you and start thinking about her breath and odour.
