Sheikh sharif was an educated guy before, he just didn't happen to speak in English. Knowing how to speak English dosent determine whether your educated or not. If you have an educational foundation in any language, you will learn faster than someone who is not educated at all and starts from scratch. Sharif also comes across as naturally intelligent guy anyway oo fahan badan leh as well as being aftahan. Mashallah
