Skin bleaching problems in the Somali community

Somali women love bleaching. Why do they love it so much? Could it be the Bollywood influence?
Remind me of that new without modesty westernized singer called Sabrina.
I remember addressing her bleaching practices and a other user replied she's naturally light-skinned.
How delusional and gullible can Somali people be?

Let's not beat around the bushes, Somali women suffer from big insecurities. Do Somali men endorse bleaching?

How can we endorse bleaching when it will affect any kids we have with the woman. I mean imagine marrying a sister for her lightness only for her to give birth to Jamac madoobe.

The 999,999th topic of Somali men complaining/talking shit about Somali women. Apparently our most priced gift to our women.Image

I was going to post this topic lol great minds think alike. I'm just facinated that a cream can change your colour completely. If that's what makes sisters feel more confident about themselves who are we to critisice them for it? It's their skin not ours.

Euphoria: There's many health risks associated with this though, shouldn't it be a banned substance? We don't yet know the very long-term effects of it (i.e. genetically) because this is happening now (current generation). But we know that much safer substances, including hair-colouring agents, advise pregnant & breastfeeding women not to use them, Clearly these chemicals have untold health risks on mother & child, no?

Jasminder: Fairly certain that Farxiya kabayare didn't bleach herself, but used lots of liquid foundation. Her facebook fan page has lots of recent pics of her and her time in Somalia and she looks normal/maariin.

Bal eeg wajigaagan heeran
Maxaa haragii ka saaray?
Haweenku shaquu qabtaaye
Madbikhii ku hagaagi maysid
Hadhkii qado dooni maysid
Cadceedaad ku hafataa show

Sidii haan guriga taala
Halkaasaad yuururtaa
Dugaagaa ku hungureeyay

Haddaad heblaay tidhaahdo
Hayaay bay odhanaysaa
Kan yaa nagu soo habaaray
Xaggee buu nagala qaaday
Haddii heersare la gaadhay
Maxaa hoos noo dhigaaya!!

Waxan maqli jiray buufisku sanadaha soo socda ayay bahaloobayaan.

I came across skin bleaching and how widespread it is amongst somali females when I travelled to Kenya few years back and let me tell you, bleached skin isn't flattering nor desirable. Not a good look.

@Yummy, good points. I think the issue is that we view or associate being light skin as a "beautiful" so its only natural that some people will go out of their way to achieve it.

I can only speak for myself and say that personally nothing turns me on more than the sight of the ghastly white looking face of extremely bleached Xaliimo getting slowly undressed as we prepare paying due homage to the goddess of Love.
