The thing is they want to give "gass" to calm me down during the sugery, I said hell no, just numb me. But the two of the bottom wisdom teeth are impacted, which means they are below the gums, they have to scrape the gum ontop of it and then dig into it to pull them out.

You should get the gas and go to sleep during surgery.Perfect_Order wrote:The thing is they want to give "gass" to calm me down during the sugery, I said hell no, just numb me. You'd need someone to drive you home though.
I remember when I woke up and tried to walk afterwards, I immediately fell down and was still out of it.
Got in the car and didn't remember the ride back.

The gas is suppose to "relax" me, not put me to sleep, so I'm going to opt out of it. I'm probably going to drive myself home, so I don't something that will get me drousy.
Yummy, not talking about baby teeth, but the molars in the very back that come out in adulthood.

Re: Have you had your widom teeth pulled?
I had mine removed couple of year back, sedated and gone during the whole procedure. Swollen face for 2 days was the only thing i remember
One of my friends has just had two impacted wisdom teeth removed: she got dry socket (alveolar osteitis) and has suffered nerve damage leading to some lower lip numbness which may prove permanent.
When I wanted a molar extracted a while ago, my dentist warned me about the risk of dry socket and how painful it was
good luck tho

Re: Have you had your widom teeth pulled?
I have 2 questions regarding wisdom teeth so can some of you guys be nice enough and give me answer(s)?
First, why do people remove wisdom teeth a lot (I read about people having them removed these days)? Is it because there's something wrong with them or what? I am asking this cuz (though I have no teeth problems at all), I hate pushing my toothbrush at the back of my mouth to brush those wisdom teeth and fancy the idea of getting rid of them just for that.
Secondly, funny thing is, I only have the top two wisdom teeth and never had the bottom two coming out. I always wondered why but still there is nothing there. Is that normal? Again, I never had a toothache let alone cavities etc. Also I never visited a dentist in my life.

They're of little use; At times, they don't come out properly (impacted wisdom teeth) and they crowd the other teeth in the mouth; They're prone to cavities for the reason that you stated (hard to reach) etc...0sman wrote:I have 2 questions regarding wisdom teeth so can some of you guys be nice enough and give me answer(s)?

The missing ones are there...they're probably growing sideways.0sman wrote:Secondly, funny thing is, I only have the top two wisdom teeth and never had the bottom two coming out. I always wondered why but still there is nothing there. Is that normal?

Re: Have you had your widom teeth pulled?
^ I heard about the impacted wisdom teeth before but never thought they're there with everyone. Does that mean they cause pain and discomfort when grow sideways then, though I never had any kind of teeth pain before?
Thanks for the info by the way, Skippa.
