Met a Burundian today

Post by JamalAddow »

We actually bonded, he was such a nice guy mashallah that when I thought he was Muslim East African and I said Salaamu calaykum, he replied calaykum salaam out of respect even tho he was a Christian. May Allah give him hidaayah.

I asked him if I should be part of the system in Somalia even tho its corrupt, he said that you are just one man and that you can't fight the system but you can change it from within.

I love you as my Somali brother so let me stay this:
Sub-saharan Africans are not the monsters Somalis make them out to be. You met a typical good African, stay friends. We are wonderful to be around.

But we do not ever need to be reminded by a non-Somali that our corrupt systems and politics need us. You shouldn't feel legitimized in your quest because an outsider told you you should. He is absolutely correct but you don't need his opinion, do you?
