Some people can be very sneaky
This happened when I was banned but I just remembered it now so I will tell the story.
A white coworker came up to me a few weeks ago and we got to talking. We start to become comfortable and he talks about his Irish/Estonian heritage. He asks what I am and I tell him my parents are Somalis. He immediately brings up Black Hawk Down to tease me. I tell him that was over two decades ago and that Somalia is perfectly safe. "I've been there a few times".
He asks what part of Somalia I am from and I tell him.
He then talks about the clan system. To make my people appear less savage, I stress that these clans are nothing more than extended families and that the clan system has no place in politics.
He then flat out asks what clan I belong too. The thing is I can tell he knew nothing about Somali clans. I was very suspicious. At most, it appeared he may have just skimmed through the Somalia wiki page.
I knew he was sent by someone. As soon as he asked what my clan was, I see a Somali FOB who is on contract with another conpany peek from the corner(he was hiding the whole time but became more visible). I don't even work with or know the dude.
The white guy was sent by the stranger FOB to find out my lineage. I turn to the white guy but his phone rings and that was the end of it

At least check the script next time you write a short drama.

Learn to read.I work with the white guy (same company) but not directly and I don't work with the Somali (on contract with another company but does work for my company). It's a big organization. Maybe you'd know something about the workplace if you had a job. The workplace consists of many branches and units and sites and different departments and roles. An engineer wouldn't work with HR, etc. A kitchen chef wouldn't work with someone in finance.
Maybe the white guy and the Somali have some sort of work relationship and do interact together in some capacity. Who knows

Re: Some people can be very sneaky
Did you hear what happened to me at the corner of 4th and Main Street? As I was sipping my ginormous latte from the local coffee shop (not from Starbucks) waiting for the pedestrian light to turn green, I noticed two huge guys following me. I picked up my pace while juggling both my latte -- did I say the latte was ginormous -- and car keys hoping neither would fall to the ground.
No matter how fast I walked, the two scary guys with seemingly dark shades and this time with malevolent intent clearly in their eyes kept coming at me. At this crucial moment I thought of the movie the Lion King, don't ask me the connection, I am merely reporting what has transpired thus far. The thought of Simba losing his father kept recurring in my head. I wondered out loud, why Simba? why now? above all, why me?
I refused to drink cold latte and I equally refused to have my day ruined by two guys with no necks. I mustered the courage and energy, by this time I was a bit exhausted from all the commotion, and turned around to face my nemesis, Scar and Pumbaa.
To be continued...
Long live Mufasa -- in paradise!
