They won the majority of the Senate. That is true. But if you look the total votes of the Republican is 28% of the population of California.
They are many small states that is red states. That does not mean they can beat California 2016.

One thing you will remember, The presidential race is always matters. Even though Republican win today. They have to tackle the tea party plus Rush Limbaugh stations.

Because Rush Limbaugh will say tomorrow it does not matter whether we enslave people, we can still win the election.

Obama is a lame duck. He won't be able to get anything passed... unless its immigration reform which may be do-able as the Republicans have an interest in that too.. esp to get Latino votes in 2016.

Republicans have masterfully gerry mandere'd their way to maintaining a permanent footing in the House. They will have a narrow majority in the Senate now which is big. But the presidential veto will have things at gridlock.

There's going to be fiscal cliff debates and potentially another government shutdown.

The republicans will never again win a presidential election. But they have empty states like Wyoming, Idaho and Montana to always keep them in the Senate and House. Wyoming has 2 senators and a population of 500,000.
While California has a population of 40 million and 2 senators. Democrats will continue to struggle in congress.

The problem is America is not good right now. It's a mirage. It's good for certain segments for sure.

The labor and working class of this country has had it's back broken for 30 years straight. That's the base of Democrats and progressives. The only progress made on those fronts have been local. Our progressive representatives in the Federal and State government directly had a hand in dismantling the biggest progressive grass roots campaign since the 60s.

But looking at the demographic trends, I don't think the Republicans can win Texas in a presidential election after a decade or so. Their voters come to polling stations with walking canes and scooters

Here's the thing, if the Repubs play their cards right and even pass an immigration bill that Obama signs, then they can get some Latino votes for 2016

I have a feeling they retain both houses in Congress and win the presidency just like in 2000-2006.

What we are afraid of is that Republican may be willing to wage wars like donkey Bush. Bush was used and then dumped to the trash. Some of these republican are radical they will never hasistate to wage wars all over the world. That will bring American days to end.
