A grisly trend
1.Losers from the diaspora are in Somalia, Kenya and Ethiopia to seek young women as wives. They are not frank about what they do for a living. Most of them have never worked, have no education and have probably fathered losers that roam the streets of major cities in the west.
2. The Xaawaleeys are also on the same crusade, I am told. Empowered by ayuuto/hagbad, they travel to Dubai and Xamar to get a Faarax.
I have a qaraabo qansax in Hargeisa. I pay the school fees of two of her daughters after the death of her husband. One of them is 16 and the other is 20 (she is attending a nursing school). The Qaraabo called me the other day and said she wanted me to send her some medicines.
I met a loser who was in the diaspora for 10 years. He did nothing during these ten years other than fadhi-ku-dirir. He claims to be 35 but he looks like 50. He chews qaad; he has 6 kids.
He told me that he was travelling to Bosaso through Hargeisa. I bought the medicine and asked him to take to my Qaraabo.
I got a phone call yesterday from my Qaraabo. The whole family is in love with the loser, not least the 16 year old. He has asked to marry the 16 year old.
He never went to Bosaso. I hope he does not do that because he will likely find another innocent girl.

Re: A grisly trend
This isn't a new thing Jalle, losers have been going back to Africa for a long time, the sad thing is, they sell fake dreams to these young women. And their parents only see passport and dollar signs.
Re: A grisly trend
So in someway you're responsible for that young girl's likely fall for that middle-aged loser.

Julkimi,
It is true. It is not new. It happens in Asia where old men from the west get girls from those countries. But, it came home to me.
Osman; yes,you could argue that. Bal hooyada muu ku qabto?
Xalay ma seexanin.

Lam, he should have just delivered the gift and minded his own business out of respect for you but if he had to go that way, I can't honestly blame the guy for wanting the young girl (considering marrying a girl at that age to a guy like him isn't an illegal business back home). Adoo hilib dhaylo arkaaya maxaa mid gaboobay kugu watay?
Sorry, couldn't resist it.

I don't know the guy that much. lol@@@@@@ hilib dheeylo. You are right that back home that is common. But back home people - at least in the good old days- did an investigation on the background and ability of the man.0sman wrote:Lam, he should have just delivered the gift and minded his own business out of respect for you but if he had to go that way, I can't honestly blame the guy for wanting the young girl (considering marrying a girl at that age to a guy like him isn't an illegal business back home). He probably dressed in a suit and told them that he was successful.
Horta Afrika gormaa kugu dambeeysay? Dadka dibadda ka imaada waay nuuraan markay Afrika tagaan; people also blv that once to you settle in the diaspora, you are rich.

Re: A grisly trend
I know one Farah from Milton keynes who started having mental problem 10 years ago after he chewed daily on huge amount of khat.
His sisters work hard + HAGBAD financed him and sent him back to Burco. His wedding was held one of the best hotel in Burco. There were two best men guarding him and kept an eye on him. Each time he wanted to walkout he received some vicious elbow strikes from left and right. When everybody left the 16 yrs old bride called her parrent AABO come and pick me up( ninkii is mumbling and walking back and forth nervously.
Odaygii Aabo iska dulqaado wuu iska hagaagiye. Luckly the mother saved the girl.

Lam, Jan the 2d, 2002 was the last day I saw Xamar. Didn't go back since (I have no immediate family left in the country right now) but would have liked to take a month or two in all the Somali territories.

There are horrible stories that I have been told; for instance, this CP patient who was taken to xamar and wed. Another was this deaf and mentally impaired guy: he married three.
But all the above married 18+ women.

Re: A grisly trend
The trend is actually changing....I've been noticing diaspora woman going back home to marry a faarax ..
Real story..
This woman was getting up there in age and nothing was coming on the horizon. She had a pretty nice job and was making $90k. Then her concerned uncle called her to tell her that he has a man for her. This man he was talking about was actually the next door pharmacy store owner in his Burco neighborhood. This man was so opportunist that he literarily seducer the uncle with free gifts and medicine bc he was aware about an aged niece that the uncle would mention at times.
Somehow uncle approached the store owner to Merry her. Long story short, the female went there and got marry to him. She then spend a year fighting immigration to get him here. He got here and within 4 years he had 3 kids but he refuse to pay any of the bills, arguing that "you are the professional and I'm a warehouse worker". She couldn't make him be home to take care of the kids with her. He rather be at the somali mall. So now they have divorced after he refuse to accept the elder's order that he support his kids. He moved out. He couldn't care less.
Then something funny happened. You wouldn't believe it. Karma is a biaaatch!

Rightwing, I was thinking to build a big house in Hargeisa so could you help me with info, mate? Like what are the cost of lands, building a 4 bedroom house, are there government taxes etc? Also, will a Xamaraawi feel comfortable to have a house and live in H town or I'll be called Xamaraawi/Wanlaweyn all the time?
Lam, since when did the '18+' laws exist back in the baadiyaha, awoowe? Ninyahow shuruucda jeebkaad kala soo bixi uun?
If I can get a 16 yo then I am up for it.
