parliament discusses no confidence vote against yuulka

Post by sahal80 »

The no confidence motion against yuulka has been distributed for todays session

Its taken up until the next two days to end this unrest for once and all

US support for the govt is temporaraly halted until it gets back to track

As the other group was planning to come up with a non confidence vote within months like it was mentioned officially a month ago, yuulkas desperate team have met and come up with this reshuffle ahead of the copenhagen conference as a set up so there can be agreement and road map that makes them work together till 2016!

He made a massive tanazulaat in halane meeting including a new reshuffle that includes the same ministers and that the agreement will be looked after by nick kay bla bla

They were told we only see that he resigns or being called to the parliament, there's no a third option for us!!

Ishallah this turmoil goes soon and the govt gets stronger in weeks.

The new guy should campaing for this and change the govts bad image that was left behind by yuulka

I believe it will be a reality bc the vision2016 needs support and funds and there cannot be somali govt without vision

Either a new elections or this president continues with the vision but it may cause a political and diplomatic damages, dual track policy...

" We are committed to the principles of the New Deal Compact which aims to build a sovereign, secure, democratic, united, and federal Somalia.

Because Somalia’s leadership is distracted with political division, the United States currently does not see the utility in sending a delegation to the High Level Partnership Forum on Somalia, which will meet next week in Copenhagen to review progress under the New Deal. We stand with the international community in urging the Federal Government of Somalia to implement fully its Vision 2016 plan and rise above the political differences that divert from the important work of unifying the country under a federal framework."

MOGADISHU, Somalia – The United States said Tuesday, November 11, it was deeply concerned over a worsening power struggle between Somalia's president and prime minister, and pulled out of a international summit on the war-torn country. Washington urged leaders to "rise above the political differences that divert from the important work of unifying the country", US State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said in a statement. Somalia's President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and his prime minister, Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed, have been at odds for months, and some lawmakers loyal to the president have pushed a vote of no confidence in Ahmed. "The United States notes with concern the recent political turmoil in Somalia," Psaki said. "Actions to put forward a parliamentary motion for a vote of no confidence in the prime minister do not serve the interests of the Somali people." Amid the in-fighting, Washington "does not see the utility" in sending delegates to a summit in Copenhagen on Somalia later this month to bring together foreign donors and the government. The US warnings follow those by United Nations envoy Nicholas Kay, who said the tension "puts at risk" political goals including a referendum on a new constitution next year, ahead of elections in 2016. Kay said he was worried about reports that lawmakers were being bribed with cash to vote in a no confidence motion against the prime minster. The Somali government, which took power in August 2012, was the first to be given global recognition since the collapse of Siad Barre's hardline regime in 1991. Billions in foreign aid has been poured in, including funding the UN-mandated 22,000-strong African Union force, which has done much of the heavy fighting against Somalia's Al-Qaeda-affiliated Shebab rebels. It was hailed as offering the best chance for peace in a generation, replacing a transitional leadership mired in ineffectiveness and rampant corruption. But political wrangles and reports of corruption have raised concern the government, like the last administration, is blighted by infighting and failing to unite in the face of the threat by the Shebab. UN chief Ban Ki-moon warned earlier this month on visit to Mogadishu that Somalia risks returning to famine without urgent aid – 3 years since more than 250,000 people died of hunger – with 3 million people in need of support

They can dicuss or debate this issue all they want but this no confidence vote is not gonna happen. If the president persists in this he will dig his own grave, tbh he is doing that already.

They were expecting this, haven't you read my whole point of the pm before this statement

I said its about the national process getting halted not the pm himself and if the president says no it will be the parliament who will settle this but he will lose some support for a while until he gets back to track

I even heard worse than this from the uks part that it will not fund any more(said this before he made the decision)

Sxb its better for your healthy to stay balanced!

Motion was signed by 140 mps, evey time new people r joining, president is right now in consultations about his successor

If you had look at todays meeting you can tell the majority were peaceful

Doesn't show some mps coming to the speaker and taking away his book their weakness?

If still believe he's not coming to the parliament I can tell he was informed and said ok.

Hassan Sheikh is a typical arrogant Somali.....with nothing to be arrogant about.
Instead of building a Govt of national unity...to strengthen Somalia's voice with the IC....he has chosen to return to the 1990s paradigm.

Sahal....you seem to think the boycott of the IC can be reversed easily......you will soon realise that is not the case.

I understand that they care about the process but what I disagrees with is Hassan sheikh can pull this off and survive. He can't. Some one is advising him badly.
