Huge Ethiopian delegation arrives in Somaliland

Berbera corridor discussed Bollore investment project and a train network from Somaliland to Ethiopia is on the agenda. Ethiopia and Somaliland strengthening their relationship even more, The Somaliland lawmakers and Bollore were also having discussions in Paris the last 5 months.

The Ethiopian Finance Minister and the Ethiopian trade minister plus the Ethiopian transport Minister all tonight in Hargeisa.

good initiative, investment and trade between ethiopia and somaliland is good for our economy and create many jobs, the ethiopian market is huge and the income from taxes on those good will raise somaliland government coffers to atleast 1 billion a year.

Ethiopian Somaliland Railway connecting berbera,igjiga,herer + some oromia major cities ! damn thats so sophisticating , Somaliland is in fact on the right train. we always wanted to supply those areas of ethiopia. The question is How when and who Will Fund the project ? ethiopia is a heavily indebted country, while somaliland is free from external debt. I think the banks/investors can trust us more than ethiopia if we gamble ! i mean berbera port is the biggest asset we control (we have no oil yet) and the possibilty that somalia will take back berbera is 0 out of 100. So if we show that we are clean from previous debts and we put berbera on the table any serious investor can trust us.

They also did with kenya So do we. are we talking about business or hostility ! Ethiopia needs berbera port service more than somalilanders do, they really want improved transportation system which we will do insha allah. berbera corridor will be started on march 2015, and the railway will come soon after the Corridor.

Ethiopia has been using Djibouti for over 100 years......they don't need Berbera....Berbera needs them.
Time will tell.....we've hear such claims periodically over the last 20 years.

Eastern Ethiopia (Somali,Oromo and harar) have been using berbera over 1000 years . Djibouti railway does not cover the eastern part of the country, thats why ethiopia dealing with berbera and mombasa kenya.

There will be a new expanded railway network in Ethiopia, connecting Kenya/Lamu and Uganda....as far as I know northern Somalia is not included.
