I am proud to be a somali.
Somalis are doing OK at the moment, most somali people born or raised abroad are either in full time education or have jobs. We could do better, but at the same time we are getting better. Somali people all have pride even the ones on welfare benefits think they are better than every1 else.
However somali people have a good reputation globally, the don't get told what to do. That is why you don't see somalis working in mcdonals or getting abused like the asians in dubai. Somalis don't take any sh*t from no one and I am proud to be a somali.

What has your country being a shithole got to do with your identity as a somali. You are who you are. End of. You seem paranoid, most of the time nobody cares or even knows anything about somalia. Most people I meet I have to explain where somalia is on the map.
